It seems Trump2.0 is not fully aware this demographic sees this administration as the last chance to fix corruption before the fourth box of liberty is the only choice. The 4 boxes are: soap box (public speaking), jury box, ballot box, and cartridge box. These "low propensity voters" gave the ballot box another chance, because Trump promised this time would be different and corruption would be combated. I agree with you broadly that insular communities full of people of a certain type of issue (autism, troons, some mental health issues) tend to reinforce and excuse the unwanted behavior. Such as troons thinking it's okay to be creeps, or depression communities excuse "mental health days."

Though, I disagree that mental illness can be solved by pushing through it like you describe. These are, generally, real chemical and neurobiological issues (except for gender dysphoria). Wallowing in it doesnt make it any better, and through effort people can learn coping and masking skills but treating their issues as fake doesnt mean they go away.

If forced to function in a normal manner through societal pressure, people will naturally learn the strategies they need to fit into society. It sucks and requires more effort on their part, but it is what it is.

This used to be the case before the internet, if you were mentally ill before the internet, you rarely knew more than a couple people dealing with the same issue so you had to learn to cope. (Example someone with depression having to get a job and get out of the house which reduces their depression)

Now with the internet, people find entire communities of people with the same issue and dont feel the same pressure to conform to societal standards. That same person with depression can find entire communities excusing their bad behaviors (it's okay to skip work, take a Mental health day!) and showing them unhealthy ways to cope, like how to get on disability instead of getting a job which does not help their depression.

I've said that autism is not purely genetic, I never said it wasn't genetic at all.
Genetics loads the gun a lot of times, but environment pulls the trigger.
If it were partially genetic (predisposition) and partially environmental (exacerbatory or triggering factor) it would mean that people with a family history should be extremely careful and get close monitoring during pregnancy or address problems beforehand to drastically reduce their chances of their child developing it.
Along with that, while genetics runs in family, so do habits and traditions which could contribute to clustering within families without assuming that it is unpreventable with intervention.

Edit: as others have stated, I talk openly about politics with a few people. Everyone else I blank face and say I don't watch the news.
Sometimes they'll bring it up around me anyway and I'll make noncommittal noises until they move on.
Interestingly I've noticed a lack of doomerism around normally TDS suffering individuals when it comes to tariffs. The general perspective seems to be "this could backfire, this could result in a recession, he's gambling" while one said "my concern is it may be isolationist instead of for leverage..."
It's much more measured and leaving open the possibility it's not the end of the world, E.g. could be a nothing burger or may even benefit the US.
