-Tariffs
-Companies and manufacturers don't want to eat the cost so let's assume they raise prices to make consumers eat 100%.
-The average american who buys impulse buys chinese garbage they don't need on amazon cannot afford a price increase. We don't have disposable income. They naturally stop buying shit they can't afford and go down to the essentials like food, their child's schools, and rent, local shit. There will be much seething online about this but big deal.
-As such, the cheap plastic garbage from china doesn't get bought. It's too expensive so it rots on shelves.
-What happens when things don't sell? The price gets lowered.
-Now the price is lowered back to something affordable, but the tariffs remain in place. Who's eating the cost of the tariff now? The corpos.
-Whether this results in reshoring, massive tax revenue, or concession, it's a win for the US citizenry.

The fact is, china needs to sell a useless piece of shit to impulsive american women on amazon far more than she needs to have it.
