I'm not quite sure exactly what Chantal is lying about in her "Health Update" video, but she is stuttering and stumbling around "splaining".
The short version is she didn't go to the hospital, because right after she got off of her live, she took a shower and the boil broke!!! It was really really gross and is still draining!!
So they went to a clinic and they gave her oral antibiotics and gauze pads and told her to come back if she started feeling worse or running a fever. Blood glucose is 16. She is gonna eat real clean from now on. But addiction is a bitch...

Was there a boil? (I think so)
Did she go to a clinic? (I am leaning to "no")
Did the boil burst? ( if there was a boil, I think it did burst)

What I think.
Chantal had boil. Didn't want to go to Hospital because MONEY AND TOURIST VISA
Maybe the boil burst. Maybe not.
They got some antibiotics. (I think you can buy certain anti's OTC in Kuwait or Salah's sister provided)

She had a fasting blood sugar level of 16.5mmol/L (584.56 mg/dL) and is implying it's because of infection.
How the hell is she even still alive? I know we ask this a lot but seriously, how?

I looked it up again and this time spent more than .02 seconds looking for an answer and 16.5 mmol is closer to 297 mg. Still ick but not as deadly.

While I agree with the sentiment, 16.5mmol is 297mg. Which is still dangerously high and does extreme organ damage anyway. 584 is like, coma territory.

I always wonder how Chantal, ALR, and other fat cows with failing health (i.e. Lou Gaglardi) haven't died yet or at very least lost a leg or something. Can only put it down to the idea that lolcows have irl plot amour.

Imagine that they are just tottering (fatly) along a ledge that gets thinner as they go - albeit very gradually.
Once something major happens (a fall, a break, an ignored kidney infection) then the whole house of cards will eventually fall.
They barely leave their house, shit Amber doesn’t even drive. So the risk of something happening is minimized slightly as they have learned to navigate their immediate surrounds taking their massive size in to account.
But once something big happens health-wise, it’s usually then a quick, steep fall to eventual death.
All because they prioritized crap food over their own life.
But they can go for decades just stagnating at a baseline level of surviving, where their body certainly doesn’t feel good but hey, it’s alive!
 
Because she's a loying loyer who loys, I think they lanced it in the clinic but she refused to be admitted if they encouraged it, so they slapped a piece of gauze on her filthy reeking hole surrounded by filthy reeking flesh, gave her a scrip and sent the blob on her way.
 
Why does Chantal not use a constant glucose monitor like the Freestyle Libre. They seems to be advertize constantly. At least she could see what makes her blood glucose shuts up.

Because they are expensive and not usually covered by insurance for T2Ds. Even if they were Chantal doesn’t have insurance.
They generally are covered for T1Ds, because their situation is more precarious.

I think we got details from past boils and yt videos.

She was story telling in that last video, even if she DID go to a clinic:
-the cat deflection
-way too many preface, unnecessary details to the story
-the stammering, oh god the stammering
-the Thesaurus level vocabulary, not the gunt's usual beautifully descriptive, banal, smelly visceral details, something she's rather good at

A monitor like that is a constant reminder of failure. The signal is sent to an app which the patient and doctor can track. The apps all have alarms for high and low readings. Non compliant T2 diabetics just turn them off in the settings and carry on killing themselves with sugar.

I’ve seen multiple hand written signs on street corners offering to pay cash for Dexcom. A lot of low income diabetics who have theirs covered by Medicare sell the sensors to pay for other bills.

If there's any conclusion to draw from this whole boil story, it's that Salad is completely fed up with Gunt and her constant medical problems combined with absolute refusal to eat less/better and move more (the giant ghost of a treadmill in the corner of the living room...)
She pleads addiction but I think he's lost the last modicum of patience and doesn't listen any more.
