I should point out that when the COVID lockdowns were in place many of the "low skill" jobs still had to work because they were labelled as "essential workers" and society would've collapsed if they weren't working. Grocery staff, janitors, garbagemen, etc. were all jobs that were labelled as menial labor and disrespected, but were also jobs that absolutely had to get done even when the world was forcefully shut down.

Honestly that is all public broadcasting is now. It is a far cry from when it started, where you had people involved wanting to make a genuine effort to make good educational television. I can’t imagine how bad Sesame Street is post BLM special episodes. That is not to mention NPR, which is now just vile propaganda (like when they broadcasted audio from an abortion to support it). There is little to no reason to keep funding both PBS and NPR if they aren’t changing to become more neutral.
