I feel like the OvarIt's admin is grossly overreacting here. I understand not wanting to be in charge anymore, especially if you're feeling burnt out, but there is no reason to DFE simply because you're tired of it. Her reasoning for not wanting to hand the site over to someone else is also weak, if she's worried about protecting user's payment data, just wipe it before giving it to someone else more capable. I also noticed she is not answering any comments that are giving alternative solutions or asking her why she's going for this nuclear option before even considering anything else, not even keeping the site around as an archive.

I have to wonder if perhaps some troon got to her and either bribed her or is threatening her to shut it down, because it really does not make any sense to me for her to completely delete a website without even trying to find another solution first. Even if you don't agree with them (Which I certainly don't for a lot of things), them just simply existing pisses troons off and causes much butthurt and seethe. OvarIt was also good at finding posts and breaking news sometimes even before KF. They have also archived certain posts that KF didn't (Like Emily_Pink's original posts). It will be a net negative with them gone.

Like I said there and in the Celebrity Troonout Prediction thread, Matt's talked about mental health a lot, in vague terms but clearly about himself and it sounded bad, so it makes sense he'd grab the "one simple solution to everything!" Tom Scott is a handmaiden--he couldn't apologize fast enough for daring to do some sword stunts with a woman who had voiced JKR-level mild criticism--but it'll be interesting to see how this affects the Technical Difficulties. Improv doesn't do well with the purity spiral.
