I've barely heard a peep from Canadians about the China tariffs, anyone informed that can give a rundown of the impact those will have? The timing seemed absolutely diabolical on China's part to pound a nail into Canada's coffin

Canadians listen to what the news them. If the news didn't say anything about China, that's a good thing!
Be angry at orange man! The news tell us so!

I thought the paper bills were destroyed? They were just sitting in a warehouse somewhere?
Idk man, some guy said he took out money and he showed me literally at least 20 bills all from 1986 and before.
Rare paper I have never seen before… all being treated as the same worth.

Either they have no new moneys, or jeets are so bad at their jobs they are somehow getting old bills into circulation.
You're talking with a schizo.

It doesn't make a difference if its the current plastic bills or the older paper ones.
Yea and? When you start getting handed bills from the 80s, trash filling the streets, and MORE non English speaking rapists… AS we get our first non elected prime minster. I would think more people would be coming scitzo soon enough.

So, I get that this thread basically exists as a place to vent in the most pessimistic manner possible, but take a breather. Mark Carney is the most astroturfed, push-polled POS ever, even worse than Kamala. Rate me rainbows, but I still think he gets his ass kicked in an election, not the least because his French is so awful he risks getting the fatal Ignatieff treatment in Quebec.
In non-Clown World, I'd be inclined to agree.

Considering Canadian Elections are basically over once the Ontario Panhandle finishes voting, and the fact I'm half convinced the average Fellow Leaf up here would vote Trudy back in solely to "spite the Orange Man?" I can't completely write off the possibility of the Liberals still getting at least a Minority Government.

That said, funniest outcome is "Liberals get Minority Govt, Carny fails to win his own seat".

That's sad you hate yourself so much that you cannot remotely educate yourself on your issues that is not blaming everyone else but this whining is a you problem.
The Liberals have instilled that self hatred within whites for the past decade. They're the party of "Canada has no national identity" after all.

If you unironically think that any of their policies will change if they manage to win another election, you're beyond help, and you will be sent to the Canadian concentration camps when the US liberates us.

Doug Ford: WE ARE GONNA SLAP 25% ELECTRICITY SURCHARGE ON AMERICANS

Also Doug Ford: yeah its gonna be like $400k a day.

L.O.L.
That's what I thought was funny about it. Last I read, Ontario sells excess generation down south for something like 6 cents a kwh. A 25% exit tax is an extra 1.5 cents per kwh. Which is charged to the exporter which is most likely OPG. Which is a crown corporation. So he's taxing a crown corporation and in essence the government is taxing itself. Sure he's bilking some more money at the end of the day, but like with everything it's an anemic response.

For reference a quick search shows the flat rate for Minnesota is 9.4 cents per kwh.

I saw a video the other day that explained that because of internal regulations it’s often cheaper to export to other countries than to other provinces.

Its a 100% tariff on various agricultural products, from pears to rapeseed oil,

with 10% on other things, etc.

Basically, its over Canada applying tariffs on Chinese EVs and technologies from a year+ ago?

For full transparency, its the same tariffs the US, and EU previously had on China, but China doesnt care that the EU has them.

From what I would guess, its likely because China, without the US, just wants to do away with North America entirely, so is pressuring diversification away from North America due to its own tariffs.

But yeah you wont hear about this in Canadian media
