I have grown tired of Capcom doing the cycle of building good will, abusing the good will they built up, and then having to build up good will again.
What's funny is Monster Hunter was also the franchise that stayed pretty safe even during their horrible eras.
Same with Creative Assembly, for example. It seems to be impossible for any bigger publisher/dev to stay humble, do their best and don't fuck things up. The big issue I think with Capcom and others is that once you reach critical mass there is no point in maintaining good will since people will buy your shit anyway, see Game Freak and Pokémon.

Oh yeah it's that grifter, don't trust that person as far as you can throw them.
Tri/3U OST has vibes and atmosphere to burn, but I always much prefer my achingly nostalgic JRPG style ”you never have to leave here, we all love you, stay forever” music

I will admit, the music hits me in my soul hard.
I've played for two hours and fought a whopping two monsters that I massacred in mere minutes because they're low rank fodder. In between those fights I've listened to shit dialogue with characters that never shut the fuck up with MMO tier quest design such as "go here talk to this person" and "go here talk to this person". INCREDIBLE
Jesus Christ how horrifying. I've played story driven games with more action than what you described. And this is supposed to be an action heavy series. Even the shitty MH movie understood that...and nothing else.
and the sound of my hunter getting punted across the arena.
Now I have an excuse to post this image:

Who honestly wants a story in Monster Hunter?
To be honest, I do, but not like this. Literally just like the earlier games, it's a nice addition but it's completely ignorable, can be skipped completely, and out of the way.

Okay, five hours in and it's just a snore fest. I'm 4 monsters in, did all the optional quests right after the story monster and there is 0 difference in difficulty. Actually killed optional Lala in 5 minutes, so to any retard that goes "the story is supposed to be a easier version so people can do it" are massive coping retards. I have not used a potion ONCE, this is with no Palico too. Imagine the wagon escort quest in World and they made that into a whole story, that's Wilds so far. 4 monsters and it takes more time to get to each in the story than it is to actually hunt them.
Oh and don't crash because you're going to spend 20min redownloading shaders.

Eh, least some people can see the writing on the wall. Also, we really should make a MH thread, maybe after Wilds dies down, either that or I can ask a janny or something to rename it to general MH thread. Then again there doesn't seem much interest on this site with MH in general...we'll see.
I'm convinced the word "slop" means the poster is autistic.

At what point is it considered a western rpg instead of monhun?
Well that's the thing, dialogue options like these serve functionally no purpose, it's flavor text and it's not even well written or interesting flavor text, it's a smoke screen so retards can point to it and say it's an RPG mechanic. It's more jingle keys for World-niggers essentially.

The early games were great at environmental storytelling. Literally just grandiose stuff happening and very little exposition about it. Freedom Unite’s first mission was called “Sinking Feeling“ or something, was a gathering mission where you have to gather 10 mountain herbs, and a Tigrex interrupts you. You could actually kill it with starting equipment and get some nice mats you wouldn’t get til high rank otherwise. Shit like that was story but also still in service to the gameplay.

I just finished the main story and hit the credits, unlike world it seems the story ends in low rank and the game "starts" in high rank (letting you actually play without the NPCs talking shit every other quest), last boss is a xeno jiva ripoff, took me 12 hours taking it slow.

EDIT:

Before I go to sleep 3 things:
  1. I had some weird artifacting issues a couple times and the game crashed once during the 12 hours.
  2. Framegen was the only way I could hit 60+ FPS in native resolution, DLSS looks very weird to me in every game. Not using it.
  3. Still a lot of players but 683k from 1mil+ is nearly half players gone already.
I'd keep playing now that the faggot ass unnecessary "story" is finally over but I'm tired now and gotta work tomorrow, fuck that was torture. Guess I'm part of that statistic.

Shout out to the Hunting Horn mains. You guys are the only Hunters I'll join up with, across all games, when I get the itch for co-op hunts.
Funny I had someone say something akin to this back in 4U, shitting on HH mains is sacrilege to people.
Same with Creative Assembly
Even though you have the TW:WH avatar I'm still surprised to see someone name that fucking company. Mostly because I never hear about them outside of purely TW related spaces.
I hate the shaved head. It would never not look ugly and retarded to me.
I bet Ubergrainy will make a mod to "unfuckify" the hair.

Jesus Christ it just released! And you took it slow? This game may have an insane high player count on launch but at this point it won't take long for people to be done with it and never touch it again. I mean, we're already seeing a large dip in current players compared to the recent 24-hour pea (on steam, don't know or care about consoles):

The game sold a fuckton and despite the beta running like shit people still bought the PC release, all this does is tell Capcom and other companies that they don't need to actually care about performance.
I'm tired of ray tracing, frame gen, and the most expensive hardware being the crutch for why companies can release broken shit while the retarded customers buy it anyways.

It's been a very long time since I've just been bored in a MonHun, especially this quickly. I hope whoever the creative director and his lackeys were this go-around get fired and bullied for being retarded.

It's a slog. Rompopolo is a pleasantly fun fight, though. Hope he gets a few new moves in HR.

Tbh despite all the shit talk in this thread, since the game runs fine on my machine, Wilds has probably been my favorite MH game. I don't think MH has ever had a good story, in any game and they have tried it several times, So I've just been focusing on KRUNK SMASH. Very satisfying and a lot of the armour/weapons are lovely looking. Haven't beaten the main story segment yet since I got in from work not terribly long ago, but the difficulty is.... about as expected for LR. No idea where some of the expectations that Monster hunters games have ever been difficult to start came from, since only ones that was CBT were the Ps2 era ones.

I mean, at that point, you could have just saved $68 bucks and bought a set of those jangly keys they make for babies and have been just as entertained.

I come from the days of 4U, it's still incredibly brutal with the likes of Gore Magala and Pink Rathian, heck even World had THREE major walls with Anjanath, Kushala and Nergigante (most of the shit that came out afterwards is difficult for the wrong reasons).

I think Rise was when I first noticed a massive shift in terms of difficulty, the monster I saw new players struggle with the most in the base game was basically babies' first DPS check (Magnamalo).

I just spent all yesterday finishing HR in 4U, and then after the credits I started farming Molten Tigrex for a Steve HH upgrade. Amazingly brutal, taking me 20-30min to kill it. Super stingy on the armor cores too so one bad blast hit from molten just chunks hp.
