The fact that the riot gear guy is just wandering around checking rooms and breaking shit makes me think it’s just some crazy random guy who went there to kill someone, no one in particular, just someone and she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Whoever this was knew she would be there and was waiting. And she was shot and then beaten to death with either a hammer or some other object, whoever did this was pissed at her.

I think the rain makes it almost certainly an insider. If they didn't know it based on routine then they knew by seeing the facebook post. Going off vague memories it felt like the "alibi" was not something as air tight as it seemed. I.E. split accommodations/a narrow time window making it possible.

Yeah, whoever was in there knew Missy's routine or knew her enough to already follow her on facebook and see the sudden announcement that the workout class would be moving inside the church that morning. The killer also looked very comfortable walking around the church, they didn't look like someone who randomly broke into the place. Why would a random would-be thief stick around and act bored for 30 minutes rather than trying to get in and get out as fast as possible? And the stuff that was vandalized wasn't like a typical burglary, where things end up broken or moved because the thief is in a hurry looking for valuables. Instead, the killer set out to purposely break stuff, it's as if they seemed to think "Oh yeah, I better break some stuff to make this look convincing."

I would encourage you to read up on the alibis, either with crime YouTubers or in the /r/MissyBevers subreddit. They go into detail about the alibis and there are several users that actually did FOIA requests to get more information on the investigation. There really is no way they could have killed her (Besides, the husband is way too tall to be the killer, even if his alibi wasn't airtight).

Trying to stage a scene to throw investigators off is common. Kinda surprised there hasn't been a break in that case. I'm guessing law enforcement has a good idea as to who it is, they just need concrete evidence.

E: I'm not sure where I got the notion that Bevers was shot and beaten. Apparently she was only attacked with a hammer that was found at the scene, so this being premeditated seems less likely to me.

They were acting for the cameras if so. It doesn't seem they were entirely rational, especially if the video footage in a nearby parking lot of them acting erratically in their car was the actual killer.

If you've been around anyone who is normally not violent and they are doing something violent, they have to psych themselves up. You can always see it, guy in a crowd pacing around clenching his fists before he sucker punches someone for example.

I'm pretty sure it's a woman from the limp wristed swings to the exaggerated male gait, guys tend to stand with their feet at a 45 degree angle to each other but walk more straight footed.

I still think it was a woman who was supposed to wait for the husband and father-in-law to use the check-in feature to their alibis on Facebook (something they didn’t normally use) to then know it was safe to go through with it. The screenshot doesn't do it justice, but something about this particular movement/segment screams woman to me. Just standing like that with knees together and one heel not touching the ground.

I re-looked at the information that was out there with this case and I changed my opinion on it.

I think that this was a random occurrence and wasn't planned. The big indicator for me was that I had erroneously thought Bevers was shot, but she was only assaulted with the hammer, which was already at the scene.

If someone was lying in wait to kill someone, I would imagine they'd have brought the means to kill them with them, rather than relying on whatever was around.

There were also apparently multiple failed attempts at forced entry into the church, which again seems to indicate a lack of planning. It would seem to make more sense to wait outside and/or follow them in rather than risk setting off any security alarms.

I think it was a robbery gone wrong or random vandalism and the perpetrator wasn't expecting to bump into anyone. I think it might be possible that the suspect had been to the church before and potentially knew about the cameras (but lack of alarms), hence the disguise. That nothing was taken could be attributed to either panic over encountering Bevers and killing her or a deliberate decision to not take anything that would create a link to them and the crime or that it was a case of oddball vandalism/trespass.

It certainly wasn't a burglary, because that's when you break into a property with the intent of stealing things inside, and then steal them. Whoever was just randomly smashing things had no intention of actually stealing anything, and did not in fact actually steal anything.

And the general result of a burglary gone wrong is the burglar flees or attempts to flee. They don't murder the first person who just coincidentally happened to show up alone (after making a social media post basically advertising they'd be there soon) in the most brutal and vicious way imaginable.

The issue, though, is why go to all the effort to disguise yourself from head to toe but not bring a murder weapon? What would've happened if the weather was fine and the class was being held outside? That's the one thing I'm hung up on.

E: And there's lots of weird cases where people react in random ass ways. I was just reading of a case where a university student was found dead on campus, with signs of rape.

Only, the student had committed suicide (there was a note left in her dorm room) and the person who had originally called it in 'felt an urge' and fucked her corpse upon discovering it.

There are also other cases I've gone through recently where someone was caught red handed and killed the person because they could identify them.

I remember reading in Homicide: Life on the Street that veteran detectives crack up when tv detectives describe burglary as a 'non-violent crime'. Yeah, nonviolent until someone wakes up or they come across a woman in bed, then it often turns into a rape or murder or a rape/murder.

About the Missy Beavers case:

There's a church security guard that I've seen some people speculate might be the killer. The reasons are that his and the killer's way of walking are similar (the camera man seems to have noticed that too, considering how much he zooms in on the guy), and that he's an ex-cop that was suspended from the force after being convicted of aggravated sexual assault in 1996.

As a security guard, he'd know a lot more about where things are located in the church (such as the hammer) compared to some random burglar, and would also know about the lack of alarms in the buildings. I don't have a concrete explanation why he'd fail to break into the church multiple times if it's him, but it could just be that he simply messed up when trying to force his way in or it was yet another trick to make it look like a burglary gone wrong.

Even if it's not the security guard who's guilty, I definitely think it's someone who both held a grudge against Missy and who is/was connected to the church in one way or another. The timing of Missy's Facebook post the day before, and the timing of the killer breaking into the church and then murdering her just seems too coincidental.

If you notice his feet straighten out when he's walking, the killers stay splayed out. The killer also moves their hips when they stand, which men don't do because our hips are entirely different. I think it's probably someone wearing a too big uniform, including shoes. So it would be interesting if any cops' families were checked out.
