I think this is Trump just being cautious and not committing to anything too early. He likes to play with a full hand and avoid committing to and for specifics until he needs to or the right time approaches. This is just way too early.

The real nuclear option would be Republicans announcing they will use reconciliation on the upcoming budget bill and defund the lower federal courts if this doesn't end. Only the Supreme Court is established by the constitution, it gives Congress the power to establish (or disestablish) the lower courts. Every single federal lolsuit going directly to the Supreme Court would cause Roberts to kill himself

You can effectively "shop" for a judge you want if you have the means to do so and in these cases they know who is the "emergency judge" on friday night/weekends in that specific court so that is the only option that could possibly be assigned to them.
I retain my observation that people who want to want to become lawyers, dentists, or congressmans are faggots. Anyone who wants to be a judge is guaranteed to be a psycho. Judges should be held to an even higher scrutiny than people seeking top secret need to know info.
