Bogota — Cocaine "is no worse than whiskey" and is only illegal because it comes from Latin America, said Colombian President Gustavo Petro during a live broadcast of a government meeting.

Colombia is the world's biggest cocaine producer and exporter, mainly to the United States and Europe, and has spent decades fighting against drug trafficking.

During a six-hour ministerial meeting -- broadcast live for the first time ever -- the leftist president said "cocaine is illegal because it is made in Latin America, not because it is worse than whiskey."

"Scientists have analyzed this. Cocaine is no worse than whiskey," he added, suggesting that the global cocaine industry could be "easily dismantled" if the drug were legalized worldwide.

"If you want peace, you have to dismantle the business (of drug trafficking)," he said. "It could easily be dismantled if they legalize cocaine in the world. It would be sold like wine."

Petro also pointed out that fentanyl "is killing Americans and it is not made in Colombia," referring to the opioid responsible for around 75,000 deaths in the United States each year, according to official data.

"Fentanyl was created as a pharmacy drug by North American multinationals" and those who consumed it "became addicted," he added.

Since coming to power in 2022, Petro has attempted to make peace with all the armed groups that are fueled by drug trafficking, in the hope of ending six decades of conflict.

Cocaine production in Colombia reached a record-high in 2023, jumping 53 percent to 2,600 tons, according to the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime.

I mean Rekieta already was quoting that quack 'doctor' who made up some crazy 1 in a million theories about cocaine metabolites. Maybe he needs to talk to these 'scientists' too and start screaming about how it's totally science that he dosed his kid with cocaine and he was just ahead of his time.
He basically did exactly that, on Thursday:

I am sure all of these facts are completely unrelated.

Cocaine is overrated as fuck. Speed and ecstasy are way better as far as stimulants go
In the hypothetical situation where all three are legal, which would make you the most productive, which one are you most likely to wean yourself off of when not in a crunch or big production schedule, and which one comes out as the best step up from coffee for general "getting shit done"?

Coca leaf infusions are pretty good. The brewed leaf tastes a bit like a pleasant cross between mint and green tea, and gives you a short term energy boost for an hour or so that has less of an edge than coffee and nice lift in mood as well. That said, I have no interest in cocaine and think it should be banned, but raw leaf? I can't see why not, in age where Panera Bread sold heart attack iced teas. Some energy drinks seem more dangerous than coca tea.

Coke is a sell your tv and rob your family to get more type of drug. Does anyone know an alcoholic that sold all their possessions for more?

Can't I just have my Rockstar drinks?

Must I eat the bugs do the drugs?

Yes, coke is great and safe. Dr.Rockzo from Metalocalypse taught me that. How much can Dr. Rockzo get for this slop? LOL

Scarface is a good movie though. It's basically Vice City the movie.
Let's go full tilt back into the 1850s, folks back in chains, gays back in the closet, coke, heroin, and whisky as a cure-all for everything from covid to teething
I want to go back to 1930's-1940's Germany.
I don't remember the last time a glass of rye deviated my septum.
It's deviating your liver.

imagine a world where your dipshit boss who micromanages you at work is constantly high on coke because its legal
yeah no that shit needs to stay banned. at least you can generally beat an unruly drunk into submission, not so much a stimmed up coke fiend geeking out.

Speed is the best drug for productivity (both physical and mental) but also the hardest one to quit. Cocaine is alright in small doses when you need some chemically induced confidence or you have a cold. MDMA is just a pure party drug with barely any practical applications.

This sounds like a Simpsons headline (old Simpsons, when it had decent writers, I hate that I even have to specify this now when using the "This sounds like a Simpsons headline" joke on super on-the-nose news articles ((inter-meta double joke get)), fuck the cursed timeline in which we live)

i think lonely spergs who cant relate to people should try molly at least once in their lifetime to see what the other side feels like. psychiatrists in burgerland are already testing it on war vets for a similar purpose but used this way it would make a great accelerator of the inevitable, you either get your shit together afterwards or you kys

The simple answer is that the government would never promote an upper. Many issues in western countries would be solved if 20-40 year olds would get high on coke and decide that the world could be a better place.

I've heard shrooms are more reliably positive in that regard

shrooms are good at breaking down ingrained beliefs and and pathways of thinking but mdma specifically makes you want to relate to people, it makes you talkative as shit, really opens the floodgates
of course theyre just drugs, neither of them will magically fix whatever problem you have and i dont think any amount of doctors researching them will ever make that possible. probably a good thing

I don't think people doing lines of nose candy would solve any issues.
