Quite a few kiwis have pondered exactly what makes Pat such a compelling lolcow. In my view, Pat has much in common with Judge Holden - the literary character, not our lovable local pigsticker. Both could be described as 'immense and terrible,' albeit for differing reasons. Both should never be left alone around children. Both do terrible things to people in secluded, isolated buildings. Most importantly, both are entirely enslaved to their own urges.

Where Holden can be viewed as a personification of mankind's darkest impulses, Pat can be viewed as the living embodiment of politisperging. Holden cannot pass up the opportunity to destroy or corrupt something, and Pat cannot let the idiots win. He is physically incapable of it.

I don't think Pat is so lacking in self-awareness that he doesn't understand he's feeding the trolls by replying to every ridiculous message the pests send him. Deep down, he knows that he's doing exactly what they want. He knows this, he has internalized it, and he still cannot help but reply. He still cannot help but sit there, stress-sighing, his sausage fingers hammering out another nochild to whatever funster is currently poking him. He is that urge we've all felt - that burning desire to post a reply to something stupid, to start or join some pointless argument, to waste precious time sperging out on the internet. Pat lets that urge win, every single time. Pat may even BE that urge given flesh.

Very corpulent flesh, because he's fat.

It's disconcerting enough seeing them in an ordinary photo, but once the momentum takes over... any tranny would feel ashamed by comparison as Pat achieved his decolletage without resorting to any kind of hormonal supplements.

Maybe I'm getting my cows mixed up, but didn't someone FOIA or otherwise access the police records and reveal they've been to the half-hovel over 40 times?

I'm not saying they're fully in the wrong --I'm still pretty confident Pat swatted himself at least a few times-- but they are definitely incompetent if they didn't put procedures in place once it became obvious they were being fucked with.

That's in the court docs. The issue I've been arguing over is whether or not those incidents rise to Patty having to take civil action against the MPD.

If there were 1 or 2 initial incidents where the police responded en masse and then the rest were just welfare checks and Patty being a belligerent shithead, I'd argue that the MPD isn't really at fault for anything.

Like, if the police were responding as a basic wellness check and Patty storms out screaming and trying to take a swing at an officer? I don't see that as grounds for anything.

If the police then respond with a backup unit on the next call because of the bellicose Pigman having been difficult the last time they were at the property, I don't see that as unreasonable.

If Patty's contention is that they wouldn't accept his special passphrase (or whatever) and that officers simply knocking on his door and confirming everyone is okay is unacceptable? I also view that as unreasonable, even in the face of 40 incidents.

However, if the police were routinely showing up and doing the same thing over and over again and Patty's oinkings came as the result of the 20th time of the same thing happening? Yeah, I could see damages being awarded to Patty.

That's what I mean by an incomplete picture. We don't know the exact nature of all of the calls, we just know that they did, in fact, happen. And that's without going into Patty's own violent, confrontational nature and past history with law enforcement.

It sounds like that they did -- both sides seem to be agreeing that there's only a handful of incidents that are a point of contention, if I'm remembering right.

This could come down to one or two individual officers being shitheads (which could be a potential case of officers not following procedure) because there are some cops who act like that or because they have dealt with Patty before and hate the guy OR it could be department incompetence. It's why I want depositions.

But it looks like best/worst case is that Trailer Park Boys meme: "I"m gonna pay you $100 to fuck off." as the City has probably crunched the numbers and determined that a small settlement (and maybe bumping an officer or two down a pay grade) is more cost effective than a lengthy and prolonged trial and more desirable than being in close vicinity to Patty for an extended period of time.

This is also my expectation. If they'd shot Nikki or something then maybe he'd be looking at fuck you money, but I'm guessing the city bean counters will calculate the minimum acceptable payout to get rid of the problem and Nikki will tell Pat to shut his fat mouth and accept.

I do hope he's already spent the windfall in his mind, though, and booked a bunch of expensive holidays off the back of imaginary riches that aren't coming. Maybe even paid a deposit on a new fence that's built the right way round.
 
My personal hope is he gets spurred by his "victory" in court to start throwing more lawsuits around that he can't afford. Even $100k is gonna dry up quickly when he's also going to probably be buying dumb shit. I would expect a suit against Boomia, Dan, Kyle (the funny fake one) and maybe Badger. Pat vs OnA round 2.

Ideally he just focuses on only Dan. Kyle, Boomia, Brian and Leslie are funny as fuck and shouldn't have to waste any money or time on a lolsuit.

Immediately. It's one of the few orders appealable on an interlocutory basis, because it's an immunity defense. An immunity defense isn't a standard motion to dismiss on the merits, it's a right not to have to stand trial at all, so it would be pointless to appeal afterwards, since you would have already lost the right.

And to be clear, I'm not saying this automatically means they're planning on settling or will automatically lose, just that it strikes me as odd that they opted to start preparing for discovery and trial, both expensive processes, when a successful appeal on QI would make the case go away instantly at much lesser expense.

Now I'm not a mind-reader, but it is at least suggestive that possibly they themselves think the QI defense ruling is sound.

Or they could just be morons. 🤷 I'd still be surprised if a fairly large city has legal counsel who don't know their way around 1983 actions though.

I love ANALSEX*. That being said, to me Dan is the only one who he could argue actually fucked with him and is a known individual.

He has no ideia who Kyle and Uncle Booms are, so I think they're safe (though I can totally see Boomia and Zoomia accidentally doxing themselves). Brian THE DANGER and Les haven't done anything but laugh at him. Again, not a lawyer and VERY MUCH into butt sex I just don't think it's reasonable to think they are at any risk.

But my money is on option 3: even the Dan Man is safe, because real life Patrick is a gigantic pussy. Unless he gets fuck you money I think he'll just keep on barking online.
