Wow he's got a more storied media presence than I initially thought
back when youtube first started him and his brother were huge, way back in the 10 minute limit era, before reaction channels or Pewdiepie. Like they created VidCon, which was youtube's de facto convention. like a dozen years ago they had the top 100th channel on youtube, plus thanks to vidcon they had a fuck load of connections with other youtubers, they were very big fish in the small pond that was youtube in those days. if you check back their videos and fanbase hasn't really grown from a dozen years ago.
I do remember they called him creepy for writing teen girl protagonists. I don’t know if being canceled woke him up or further burrowed him into the ideology.
the Green brothers were very big on social media sites, especially tumblr when it first launched they basically burrowed further into their ideology but they were always very tumblr heavy in their politics.
Honestly to the green brothers its still 2010, which is why their politics are still so "blue is always right, red always evil" and "dude its heckin' awesome that we're funding gay pride internationally, its a smart move goy"
New reddit cope dropped. Orange Man so dumb and easily manipulated
its such an awful cover too, in general time magazine's quality has dropped hard, when thanks to AI any fucker can make a better cover in under a minute, you need to step up your game.
Does Trump really obsess over Times Magazine like they say?
not as much as he did in the first term, in general i think the podcasts and tiktok stuff showed him how much bigger the media has gotten compared to what he thought a decade ago when he still loved cable news and tv.
Now their shit can't even break a few K views.
that would have always happened, they were in the top 100 youtube channels back in 2010 and were sliding into irrelevancy ever since, of course they'd be anti-gamergate, who would want to be on the same side as Ethan Ralph? Beyond that their whole format, between the vlogs and crash course was very pre-smartphone era, they never adapted beyond that, for fucks sake they still had a forum.
