As you may remember, lolcow Yonah Bex Gerber (aka "Becky") is one of the three board members of LFJ's End Networked Harassment organization.
A couple days ago, Becky claimed that she's having financial difficulties and started e-begging on Bluesky:
Becky is a notorious liar, but there's probably at least some truth here. After all, Becky has been unemployed since May 2023, and her lawyer husband (Jackson) has been unemployed since August 2024.
They're currently being kept afloat by two other men in Becky's polycule (her "second husband" & a new boyfriend) and by occasionally begging from family members, although it appears Becky's parents are getting fed up with it. So yes, it could be true that they're struggling right now.
ANYWAY, notice that Liz Fong-Jones commented on Becky's post above. He knows they're having financial troubles. So... why isn't he lending them a hand?
I'm not saying he's obligated to do anything, but Liz Fong-Jones is a multi-millionaire. [1] [2]
For example, he could pay Becky a small salary for her "work" as a board member at ENH. Or, since LFJ is very well-connected in tech circles, I imagine he could easily get Becky or Jackson a job - whether at Honeycomb or elsewhere.
But he hasn't done this... well, why not?
It brings to mind the Katherine Lorelei situation.
As a reminder, Kat was the "right hand of Liz Fong-Jones" during the #DropKiwiFarms saga.
The Washington Post article about them described Kat as LFJ's assistant and co-lead of the team:

$50k isn't much money to a multi-millionaire like Liz Fong-Jones. In fact, he semi-routinely donates similar amounts of money to various charities/organizations. So, why didn't he bail out Katherine Lorelei in his urgent time of need? (Kat getting outed as a sex pest isn't a valid excuse, btw, since that happened several months after they parted ways.)
At the time, it seems like the most Liz Fong-Jones was willing to do was advertise Kat's GoFundMe on LinkedIn:
Liz's excuse for not helping was a lack of liquidity and needing to keep funds in reserve for lawfare against KF. As if he, a multi-millionaire, was simply incapable of scrounging up the $10-50k needed to prevent his close ally from becoming homeless.
Also, LFJ gave another laughable excuse that paying Kat would "send the wrong signal" and imply that they weren't equals.
Ultimately, Liz Fong-Jones kicked Katherine Lorelei to the curb when Kat was no longer useful to him. LFJ was unwilling to help his close ally in any material way.
And now... I think we might be seeing something similar with Becky Gerber. Of course, Becky is in a much better position than Kat (Becky has wealthy family members, so she's in no real danger of homelessness), but it's still very interesting to me that LFJ seems similarly reluctant to help her.
Is this an emerging pattern with LFJ? He's unwilling to pay his underlings if he can get away with it, he won't use his connections to get them a job, and he'll cast them aside when they're no longer useful to him? Hmm. We'll have to wait and see.
