if women are more likely to get got, it’s not because they’re sexy. Kidnappers usually want something, right? Like a sex slave or a ransom? Let’s say you want to kidnap a rich person’s kid to get money from them… targeting a daughter might get you the most bang for your buck since women are physically weaker than men.

But someone can be smart in one area and dumb in another. Plus, intelligent and educated people are often suckered in by
cults. The main thing that gets people into cults is vulnerability, and smart and stupid people feel despair. There may even be evidence that smart people
feel that despair more acutely. Intelligent people have the tools to rationalize their own nonsense. There’s literally a psychological defence mechanism called
“intellectualizing”.

Good question. I would say it’s because they want power. They’re smart enough to know that this is the way to get it. Just because they believe that
they should be able to do what they want doesn’t mean they’ll extend that chariry to you. Especially when letting you do what you want impedes them from engaging in their fetish - doing what they want.
