because they're not, you're so attached to the term as a "bad thing" that you view a disagreement over it as implication that the thing itself isn't bad, this is what happens when your brain is fried on internet memespeak, you go around shouting "coomer doomer boomer zoomer" instead of "that guy kicked a puppy, that's what he did, he's a puppy kicker, no he's not a zoomer moomer kaboomer"
that and the fact that you're so certain you're objectively right that any disagreement that ruffles you can only come from 'the enemy' and not someone telling you you're plain wrong, no it must be a personal issue, this is a deep personal ideological battle of some kind as opposed to me telling you your word usage is dumb

I care because I want to know what the difference is between someone buying thousands worth of product in one go from a mix of severe brand loyalty and delusions of "value". Hoarding a wall of unopened funkos and a wall of unopened duplicate pokemon card value packs are literally the same shit with a different brand attached.

you can't be a "consoomer" if you're not a consumer, and consuming a product means wanting it for itself, not just to resell, the difference isn't a matter of appearances to you, it's a matter of intent, what you do with the item
again- is a shopkeeper a consoomer? if not, then neither is a scalper

I'm not sure about Costco policy, but most big box stores have rules about not stopping shoplifters and not getting in the way of customer fights unless you're specifically trained to do so. The store doesn't want you hurt, doesn't want the customers hurt (and able to sue the store,) and doesn't want a legal pain to deal with. That's security/AP's job, not some random cashier trying to restock product.

To be honest, I completely forgot about that like 5 minutes after I posted it. It was dumb and amusing. Good for a quick laugh. Just hoarding for the sake of hoarding, and hoarding something he's never seen, and probably never intends to just made it seem even more like a cry for attention. Not even particularly fun.

It was kind of the opposite of the autistic Perfect Dark girl from reddit I also posted. Sure, she's got hundreds of copies of Perfect Dark Zero for Xbox, but she plays it, enjoys the game and character, and does a pretty great cosplay of her too. She's also self-aware that she's consooming and has actually built a bit of a fanbase because she has a sense of humor about it and likes to talk to people. It makes her happy. She's definitely a consoomer, but seems pretty cool and harmless.

Troon, on the other hand just has DVDs. Tons and tons of DVDs. And it's not even for a goofy joke like the guy with thousands of copies of Shrek on VHS, or the guy who used to have a website where you could mail him copies of Shaq Fu and he'd send you like $2 each, supposedly to contain them from shitting up the world any more.

Troon guy is just kinda sad and weird.
