I am wondering how much wealth Phil would have if he had lived the exact same life (minus investing just a little more into home maintenance) of Doordash/Total Wine (not complete monk mode), but had simply put his WWE Champions money into not taking out high interest CC debt and investing any remainder at 8% (this is a modest expectation, last year the DOW was 13 and I cleared 17). If memory serves, the CONFIRMABLE WWE Champions purchases are around a quarter mil or 300K. If Phil had been putting this into the market under a competent money manager, rather than pulling for Hogans, how much money would he have? Also, if he is paying 2014/2015 interest rates and did not refinance in 20 or 21, holy shit. I'll assume he did if he was eligible, but I have no idea if his bankruptcy disqualified him from such an option. I know he was excited a few months back about the near future prospect of pulling money from his house, which might imply that he is just getting refinance options back, but I don't know. Does anyone know more precisely? Also, do we have an estimation on the Doordash annuals? I've seen him drop 70+ on some days. If we assumed that his DD bill were quartered by replacing that DD activity with grocery activity, how much does that change the timeline where Phil has a modicum of financial discipline and savvy?

He would have a lot. If he had invested conservativley (you know low risk, low reward stocks) he should have been easdily able to pay of his mortgage and live comfortably. (maybe have around 500k plus in savings). Not PewDiePie level of wealth (as much as Phil wants that) but way above the average American (which imho he still is in terms of posessions). And never forget because this is important: he whaled out on MULTIPLE gacha games. WWE Supercards being a very prominent one and also DBZ Dokan battle. He wasted his money from the moment he earned it. Just take a look at all the statues he bought. His first condo was a mess, cluttered with all kinds of shit. I remember one part where John was visiting Phil's condo and they found a bag full of controllers and other stuff and Phil admitted he bought this and then forgot about it. Imagine how much money he wasted (and most likely used as tax write off so maybe not entirely weasted) just by his cumpolsray purchases. The only thing he did right was paying of his old debts with Youtube money (though guess how he accumulated THOSE debts: taking out loans to travel to tournaments and wasting it on money matches)

I was unaware that Champions was not a one off. I am going to assume that he buys the same level of statues, figurines, whatever. Perhaps I'll be generous and halve this to a less ridiculous level. I'm also going to run a scenario where he doesn't drop 4 figures on a technology sidegrade every few months.

Blowing it on money matches was unquestionably stupid and funding it by CC was as well. That said, I can absolutely understand the appeal of traveling the country to pursue something of extreme personal interest. I find the open road to be the epitome of living, so I somewhat empathize with Phil on taking this opportunity to do something of personal interest to himself while in his youth. Also, I just noticed a "Notable thread" recommendations. Should I take this to the Finance Tracking thread?

I think if we add in money that he wasted on other dumb shit before WWEC, for example all the dumb gaymer statues and stupid gaymer tchotchkies and knickknacks. If he got someone to manage his money instead he'd live like a pig in shit now. The early Youtube money in particular was insane, especially when he was under Machinima. And keep in mind that $100k in 2010 went waaaay farther than $100k does now. The thing with WWEC is that it's something he started doing after his downfall. If he just saved or invested the money that he got from 2010-2013 he'd pretty much have fuck you money now.
