MFW... it's a sci fi convention
Because of course it is.
>attending event unrelated to politics

>Emerging Trends in Game Technology
>Podcasting
>Triforce of Decades: Zelda at 30
>Magical Girl: Beyond Sailor Moon

>announced via 1 tweet made 2 hours before 1st panel

"Campaign event."

And when Wu says they'll be there all weekend, they mean it. He has panels at 8:30pm today, a couple tomorrow, and 5:30pm Sunday.

Though by the loosest definitions, I suppose it may be a campaign event. I expect come Monday there will be a fair share of "got to meet @GiantSpaceTroon! so excited for her campaign!" tweet-pats, and of course every one of her panels will have a note about (if it doesn't open and close with) how Wu's going to Make Dems Bolder Again.

Hopefully you can get their endorsement, Bri.

Wu is going to be speaking at 4 panels this weekend at Arisia. Also I have no idea why but her bio on the site is mainly about her height and jogging lies. http://www.arisia.org/Bios#BriannaWu

"I am prepared to stand proudly with other prominent women in politics, unless doing so means I can't sperg about Sailor Moon to an empty room"

You really can't make this shit up, man :story:

This is the same idiot who thinks he can bring unity to congress by playing vintage console games in his imaginary office. Johnny does not live in the real world.

I like how he's running a carbon copy of the Hillary Clinton campaign but without the massive amount of money and political influence. That ought to end well.

It's really more of a cargo cult copy of the Clinton campaign than anything. So far we have seen John imitate what he sees actual politicians do in regards to interview questions, talking points, self promotion. Just like the Melanesian Islanders who made primitive wooden replicas of the airplanes they saw in the skies and constructed runways -- he has made all the right moves in his eyes and the gods will reward him. Unfortunately, his policy ideas are worse than idiotic and based firmly in his bizarre skewed reality far divorced from the real world. Beyond this, I have never seen a politician less charismatic and more repulsive than John. Despite eveything, Hillary Clinton is a vastly more likable and admirable person than John in every conceivable way.

Brianna Spacekat Wu is head of development at Giant Spacekat Productions, where she wrote and directed the videogame "Revolution 60". This game is a fully 3D-animated game about girls in space who kick ass, and features professional voice actors such as Amanda Winn-Lee. Brianna is also a frequent contributor to science fiction fanzines. She's known for her high-energy art style featuring tall, skinny women. Wu is six foot two, and a dedicated marathoner. She runs over 55 miles every week, and almost 3,000 miles per year. She is married to four-time Hugo-award-winner Frank Wu.

'Dedicated Marathoner'

Runs TWO MARATHONS EVERY WEEK.

:hillary:

So. Which of Frank's friends got her those panels?

Hey, those ain't panel appearances at a sci-fi convention; those are political speeches to her Southie constituents in the Eighth Congressional District, all of whom are keenly interested in Sailor Moon and Zelda.

Faith and begorra, I can't wait to see this tranny horrorshow walking in the St. Paddy's Day Parade -- with a bunch of cishet white people -- something you really need to do if you plan to be elected in that district.

I don't have time to photoshop this image, but I think Flynt/Wu will fit right in.

A parade of men walking around in skirts? John will fit right in.

Okay. I consulted a professional on that "over 55 miles a week" thing because it seemed wacky. Professional runner gave some good, insightful feedback (once I fully explained what I was looking for):

Q: Is it likely that a "professional marathon runner" would run over 55 miles a week?
A: "Anywhere from 35 to 55 during low peeks (sic) up to a 100 for high depends on the type of work outs. More speed work would be lower mileage in the summer."

Q: "And that's typical?"
A: "More or less. They need low mileage times to build speed so they don't get slow. Some professionals do about 120 miles a week."

Q: "Oh well. I was really hoping to catch a clown in a lie. Thanks for the info though. Anything else you can add?"
A: "NP. Person might be overestimating if they don't look the part however you do see fatties out there sometimes. They're slow, lol."

And now I just have to deal with them bugging me about getting into running so whatever. Wu's number isn't shit but still suspect because we know what Brianna's online activity is like.

We've never seen Wu in a photo not taken outside that wasn't immediately within eyesight of their house ever since the move or outside a convention setting.

Wu may have accurate numbers but the jury is out on the bike racing thing since chances are Wu does not have a license - and the bike racing was well before the pillar of fitness shit. Furthermore, in some other photos taken in front of the shelves of final fantasy figures, those shelves are unnaturally dusty which only happens in the home of a smoker.

Yes John this is EXACTLY the kind of hard-hitting stance that the BOLDER new Democratic Party needs for the 21st century !!

Obviously this idiot doesn't realize this has happened several times. There was Tingle's DS game that I totally forget the objective of, but more importantly there's that Hyrule Legends or something where you get to be Gannondorf leading an army of midget skeletons.

And technically there was the one SSBB level in Subspace Embassy or whatever when Zelda goes Shiek mode and runs around Meta Knight's ship.

Yeah, that's the other thing worth mentioning.

We've never seen Wu in running gear. She hasn't posted a single thing on Twitter about participating in a race or even going to one. She talks about how much she runs in terms of mileage but I don't think she ever mentions her time (which is kind of the big thing).

I think part of it is how running gear would expose the very masculine profile of Wu's body, even for fake shots (because Wu's stick legs simply don't have muscle mass to suggest lots of running).

I find it amazing that John's platform, or what passes for one, can be boiled down to:

1. Vague crap about changing the status quo.
2. Web security.
3. GABERGATE!

Nothing about what he plans to do to increase jobs, reduce the cost of social services, alleviate tax burdens, or anything of actual substance voters would give a shit about.

In fact, I'll bet if someone asked him a hard question about what to do to about the cost of (insert random government expense that is screwing over voters) and how to fix it, he'd either freeze like a deer in headlights and try to dodge the question or spew some barely related at best canned response he had planned for a softball question, even if it makes him look incompetent because he has no actual clue and isn't even good at faking it.
