I have always thought that shunning/cutting off family members during the holidays for disagreeing with you or just being annoying is a really scummy thing to do, and you need to tolerate the family members you don't like because that's what the holiday season is about. So long as they're not being violent or touching your kids or stealing from you, deal with it. Or so I thought. Rick is the only person who is such a fat faggot with bitch tits that his family cutting him off at Christmas is ENTIRELY justified.

I am experiencing genuine embarrassment reading those excerpts. Generally speaking, I don't think Patrick's writing is that bad, verbose pretentious generic sci-fi slop that passes as airline bookstore pulp. But this is absolutely God awful. He got out of his comfort zone for a novelty work and had to adjust his style to match a preceding work from a much more talented author from another era, and the result is the mess that we see before us.Here's both draft pages in one post if you're interested. Posts under innocuous milquetoast political news tweets, Pat responding to his toilet, and Pat making vague threats to women about how it’s too late for them now.
