I agree that the Hulu gaslight, including the initial relative slow-burn of the bit, is what made act 1 great - but I'm pretty sure you're incorrect when you say "they very clearly wanted to draw it out longer" and something happened which caused them to "rush" the reveal.
My reasons for thinking it was a last minute decision was that during election night Production admitted they were going too hard and it felt like “day 20 pace.” If reindeer dancing, Vance getting yelled at for tripping with cake, and some balloons and confetti is day twenty pace, then why were the Fish playing with dead fish guts in the cell by day 15 and vomiting up hot dogs by day 18? It just doesn’t add up pacing wise.

While the reveal was cool, I think they did rush into it. Either that or they simply had no effective plan other than to show some pictures from previous seasons and do an improved Jason Goldstriker rice counting session. As for the point about the video being made in advance, it was really just a bunch of still frames. They knocked out a fully fledged fake trailer for famous house in under three days, so I think they very easily could have churned out that slide show.

It also just felt like they cut everything so short. Computer never had a satisfying conclusion and the Ben and Sam tension never built to a peak either. I think they originally wanted to slowly build to a reveal by showing more and more cracks in the system. Computer becoming more unstable, Sam getting more aggressive towards Ben, etc. But at some point, most likely out of a desire to make more money and hearing the small but vocal minority interested in hell house, they made the sudden switch.

They seemingly had no plan after the brief q&a they did and especially after the cell started. It was ball and tts spam with no sense of direction. But I guess it could be possible that they did have some semblance of a plan they honed in on, it just wasn’t thought out well enough. It would track with the wiggers given the prison challenge and famous house 2.0 being poorly planned as well.

Either way famous house 1.0 should’ve been drawn out more.

Famous House 1.0 was the best part of Fishtank S3 and the constant yet simple bit of having these shitty Z list actors repeat "scenes" and be forced to say shitty canned reality show lines made me laugh more than it really should.

I totally agree with this. It's quite ironic that the usually biggest criticism of the wiggers is their refusal to plan, but in this case their big mistake was sticking to the plan despite how well the first act was going. As a viewer, it felt like things were going great, and then out of nowhere they blew everything up and triggered walk offs.

I think they could have easily kept slow burning the reveal for another week or so, dropping more clues/hints like they did with the TV until the fish had either figured it out or were so suspicious that production had no choice but to do a grand reveal - one where Sam didn't fucking immediately lie to them for a cheap laugh and ruin the moment. This way Jet would have also got his "cool undercover spy thriller" and we would have got more great moments like the TV slideshow as you guys have mentioned.

Roughly 3 weeks of Famous House followed by 3 weeks of Fishtank is the trajectory for the season that I think would be the winning formula. But instead Jet planned to do a season of Fishtank where 2/3rds of the show wasn't Fishtank, and where the plan was to make the end of the show less interesting than the middle of the show. Baffled.
The pacing was way off and it would've been better had they slowly built up to Fishtank and ramped up the gaslighting. The Fishtank reveal was amazing but it escalated to Hellhouse way too fast IMO and it ruined some of the content potential. There were some good bits that were underrated like the Bloodgames re-enactment with Nifty after Xavier trained Burt, but FH 2.0 was the season's turning point.

Ambition is a good thing but too much of it with poor planning really fucks up the show.

I watched a whole 5 minutes of this alex stream and it's just him sitting there looking like he is about to punch the monitor and mumbling shit to himself.
Alex B might start his Alex Jones arc soon. He mentioned some Sandy Hook theory briefly and then told a chatter (in a tongue in cheek way) that he would have been able to stop 9/11 by using Sun Wukong monkey powers to beat up all of the hijackers. lmao

@Blackstar Was Letty a cutter? The bikini photo you posted, she has multiple marks on her right hand. If she was a cutter I must've missed that tidbit during S1.
