If we already prohibit everything, tear everything down, demolish everything, de-industralize everything, we can just go ahead and de-Christmas ourselves.
Are you feeling the same way too?
That you started hoping to survive Christmas/New Year's with at most two or three ARD/ZDF special programs and politician drivel orgies with "Our thoughts are [x]" canned phrases? That the threat and misfortune have long surpassed the holiday aspects and this is being perceived more as a time for crisis rather than a celebration of the end of the year?
And whenever you think more deeply about how this country has changed, you hope that at least the churches shut their traps for a few days so you've got some quiet during Christmas? Because their politicization of formerly Christian holidays has become unbearable?
She's expressing what I feel. And many others.
Completely beside the fact that I generally can't stand Christmas because it's too much hypocrisy and kitsch for me, and I might have suffered an irreparable Christmas trauma as a child because it's been militantly ritualized in exorbitant precision, on rigid tracks, and without mercy, at all costs, and I only like Christmas cookies and very few Christmas songs, I think "Last Christmas" is torture; I want to expressly agree with this line of thinking.
In my childhood, Christmas was still about "Silent Night" and tea with cinnamon and almonds and gingerbread and so on. With angels and Christmas tree balls and Santa Clauses and Santa's little helper and nativity set and Christmas stollen and things like that. And snow and cold and lit-up windows and markets in the dark where you could warm up while jittering. Jf the police even came to the Christmas market - exceedingly rare - then for the sole reason of also wanting some hot wine punch.
Meanwhile, it's about "security concepts", "knife-free zones", concrete bollards, police presence, firearms. And the question of which Christmas market is the next to be cancelled, prematurely closed, or made the subject of breaking news because something happened.
As traumatic as the kitsch and rituals of Christmas in my childhood have been: It was a lot better than the shit we've got today.
The same thing with New Year's Eve: I didn't have that in my childhood that the police was doing large scale operations. Okay, the fire departments always had to go because of the rockets. But the firefighters have never been assaulted or shot at or anything. We still celebrated New Year's Eve instead of doing war exercises.
As I was thinking about this tweet, the thought crossed my mind - again, usually without Christmas as the occasion - of how kaput life in Germany has become in general. It's not just about Christmas. We are basically doing nothing but losing our nerves in the fight against leftist lunatics and defending against their constant attacks. Not only can we not celebrate in peace, we can't do anything anymore. No matter what you do or don't do, it's immediately being turned into a problem, an accusation, an attack, a war, a home search, a criminal proceeding, a shitstorm, a boycott, a media war, a firewall.
Everything is just kaput, and we are busy doing nothing but defending ourselves against ourselves.
It's not just during Christmas that celebrating has turned into a - failed - security concept, it just becomes particularly apparent. Everything has already reached that state. Everything is kaput. Nothing no longer works normally. Everything is just jammed like in a bench vise between leftists on one side and migration on the other.
There is nothing you can do anymore without being attacked for it. Everything is always in some way islamophobic, racist, misogynistic, harmful for the climate, far right, or whatever. There is no "it's fine" anymore. There are only the demands for expropriation, taxation, regulation, and prohibition.
Of course she got a shitstorm for wishing for a return to nicer Christmas times.
But that won't be possible anymore because we have long succumbed to self-vandalism and every bit of self-preservation drive, every defensive drive has been cast out,
We are nothing but a state of crisis.
I would like to wish you a merry Christmas. But I don't know on what basis.
I wish you that, for the next three, four days, you remain unharmed by the special programs of ARD and ZDF and the canned phrases of concern by politics. There's nothing more you can hope for, there's nothing more you can wish for.
Apparently I'm not alone with my stance.
Yes.
That is also what went through my head.
While other people are founding companies, taking over the economy, for years we have been busy doing nothing but waging war, harassing, coercing, sabotaging each other.
I'm noticing it within me: Actually, computer science is an especially creative discipline. Actually, we computer scientists are destined to invent new things, disrupt the world, conquer the market. But that's not possible in Germany. Instead, for now over 25 years, I am busy defending myself against government overreach, describing leftist insanity, analyzing the self-destruction of the country.
For a long time, but ever more clearly, it looks to me as if someone had disabled this country with a hack, a denial-of-service attack, by planting the leftist, the feminist virus with which the country stalls itself. As if we were invaded, possessed, taken over by a herd of leftist monkeys whose only goal it is that nothing works anymore, that nothing is left standing.
But another reply to this came to mind:
With a link to her blog article: Economic scrapping country Germany: Decline and misery
Yes. And I want to add: Unfortunately without cash for clunkers. I mean, yes, for the others, but not for us.
Yes.
This country is finished, and there's nothing you can do about it.
The only thing we can still do is document it for posterity and others so that they don't make the same mistake, at least not without having been warned, and then just pack up and leave. The mistake was surrendering Germany to the idiots, the leftists, the ideologues. Now it's kaput and over.
The event Germany has finished.
I am just pleading for one change: Discard the name "Germany" so you don't get the impression that the thing that stands there now still has something to do with Germany.

Shitty Christmas in Germany
If we already prohibit everything, tear everything down, demolish everything, de-industralize everything, we can just go ahead and de-Christmas ourselves.
Are you feeling the same way too?
That you started hoping to survive Christmas/New Year's with at most two or three ARD/ZDF special programs and politician drivel orgies with "Our thoughts are [x]" canned phrases? I don't want any more "security concepts", Merkel legos, concrete bollards, or knife-free zones. This country needs a government that deports all Islamists, closes the borders, and protects its people. I want the country back in which you don't need to worry if your own kids make it home alive from prom night, the Christmas market, the public swimming pool, and the latest train ride.
We used to have such a country until politics decided that the interests of half of the world are more important than the interests of the German people. #Magdeburg #Christmasmarket #Terror

The generalization
As I was thinking about this tweet, the thought crossed my mind - again, usually without Christmas as the occasion - of how kaput life in Germany has become in general. It's not just about Christmas. We are basically doing nothing but losing our nerves in the fight against leftist lunatics and defending against their constant attacks. Not only can we not celebrate in peace, we can't do anything anymore. No matter what you do or don't do, it's immediately being turned into a problem, an accusation, an attack, a war, a home search, a criminal proceeding, a shitstorm, a boycott, a media war, a firewall.

Shitstorm
Of course she got a shitstorm for wishing for a return to nicer Christmas times.
Parts of the self-righteous bourgeoisie are now demanding that I delete this tweet, I think it must be reiterated because every syllable still applies: I want my country back in the state before it has been gifted to the criminals of the entire world.
And it is the representatives of those parties that claim to represent the center of society and to be "democratic" in particular from whom I expect a decisive turnaround in migration policy, because that is exactly what the center of society wants: That German borders are protected to an extent that can even be in the ballpark of every average Christmas market. Concrete bollards belong at national borders, not in front of hot-dog stands and hot wine punch stalls.
I am expecting this turnaround shortly and with actions, because we are still waiting for the "large-scale deportations" which chancellor Olaf Scholz, who unfortunately is still chancellor, announced a year ago, they haven't even started yet. That too is a part of a sad reality next to the total failure of countless authorities in this situation: They don't want to protect this country. I am deeply convinced that the police authorities and border guards would be able to do a good job if they let them do it. That is particularly why I expect this genuine turnaround from parties like CDU, CSU, SPD, and the Greens, because the AfD has long been willing to do it and articulated it as well, they didn't have to be told to do so. I don't want vice chancellor Habeck to keep publicly warning against hate against foreigners and Muslims, because what we currently see on the streets of Germany is especially hate against Germans, Christians, Jews, locals, women, or to put it in the lovely words of that chancellor who imported the terror of Christmas markets into the country: Hate against those who have been living here for longer than those who have been let in. I am no longer willing to tolerate that the firewall against AfD members is taller than the firewall against violent migrants who even announce that they want to "slaughter" us but are still able to live their lives unmolested.
This country needs a full stop in migration policy, closed borders, thorough deportations of everyone who is already obliged to leave the country. Thorough checks of all other foreigners in the country and their residency status, deportation of those who don't have any asylum reason or whose reason has become moot. Also a deportation of those who put no effort into learning German nor going to work, and also those who become criminal or already have. Asylum can be granted, but it can also be withdrawn. That is how rule of law works, and if you don't share our values, don't value our country, and you hate our people, then you must leave. #Magdeburg #Migration

Two more Christmas speeches
Apparently I'm not alone with my stance.
Instead of being proud of the achievements of our humanist society and confidently defending them, we are masochistically circling around our faults and devouring ourselves in doing so.
Within just a few decades, our way of life has become something you should be ashamed for. We are blaming ourselves for basically everything that is currently wrong in the world. Achievements like freedom of speech, individual rights, or secularism - all of that is suddenly worthless. Life-saving medicine, free market economy, master strokes of engineering and technology - everything that has brought countless people out of bitter poverty for the past 150 years is being viewed with skepticism and hostility. A culture that brought forth Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Mozart, or Einstein is being presented as if it had nothing relevant to say anymore.
It has always been the biggest strength of Western culture to critically second-guess itself. But this strength has got a flipside. Whoever questions everything is also questioning their own existence. And that has a potentially self-ruinating power. In the past years, our ability for self-criticism has turned into self-hatred and self-denial. We are witnessing a perversion of the enlightenment.

Germany has deteriorated to an ideological banana republic and lopsided moral dictatorship. A juggernaut of misanthropes and curmudgeons.

With a link to her blog article: Economic scrapping country Germany: Decline and misery
The economic miracle country Germany has become the economic scrapping country Germany. Nothing of what has once been good, worth striving for, admirable in this country still is. Germany has deteriorated to an ideological banana republic and lopsided moral dictatorship. A juggernaut of misanthropes and curmudgeons.
Yes. And I want to add: Unfortunately without cash for clunkers. I mean, yes, for the others, but not for us.
Such conceit knows no bounds
For years, Germany has been living on nothing but its substance, which is mercilessly being gnawed at by the ideological zeitgeist and which lets the former higher education stalwart of Germany break down. Other than gender nonsense and Black Lives Bullshit as well as the eternal lament of climate apologetics, there's not much happening at the universities. The content of dissertations no longer matters, the only thing that does is whether they have been authored politically correct in gender-just language. The former quality of education has made room for a quality of emptiness that is being continually raced to the bottom with women's quotas. Effort, knowledge, and ability no longer matter. Only the right moral attitude gives the loyal servant a warm seat in society, and sometimes also at the feeding throughs of power.
[...]
Conclusion
The glamor of Germany is completely gone. What is Germany even still capable of, other than using dogmatic stubbornness and morally-flawless ideology to use the moral index finger to point at and lecture everyone who does or thinks differently?
Nothing.
