If the other countries have to increase their spending then they'll have to buy their gear from the USA which makes sense as to why Trump wants that as it makes other countries more dependent on America. However, America doesn't product all of their own gear on their soil so Trumps usual bullshit about making everything in America pointless. Also, not every country can increase military spending as then they'll have to cut back on other things. After all, many countries in NATO are socialist shit holes. This is something they would never do. Unless of course they piss of various unions and shut down various government sects like education or healthcare. Just another thing countries need to have some balls and tell the Orange Man to fuck off and stay in his lane.

Not only that, but Germany is also blocking or at least hindering everyone else's attempts to make their militaries more functional and less dependent on the US. Even more than France used to try blocking every military cooperation in EU that did not have France in control.

That isn't really the case. While the US is one of the world leaders in military industrial production, there are European defense suppliers.

It's definitely worth a read. It's not the "Bible of the racist right" the FBI makes it out to be but it's a fun read (way better than something like Catcher in the Rye, that drags and is a slog to get through) and it's no "life changing experience" that's going to change you into a huWhite Nationalist Revolutionary or whatever gay shit the Leftists that wanted to ban it claimed, but it's a pretty fun story. It's corny as hell, and as others pointed out, all the none Whites are hilarious stereotypes and most of the Whites are crazy parodies, it's no Cormac McCarthy novel, but it's a fun story. It's also one of those books I think are worth reading because of the type of people that wanted to ban it and get hysterical at the mention of it.

They're not completely technologically independent though and still use components, etc. from the US with all the accompanying baggage. So if Europe wanted to still supply Ukraine after Trump cuts off support, their US suppliers could prevent them. Or Trump could prevent them, since he could ban any reexport of military technology. Attempts to change this on the European side have been blocked by Poland and the Netherlands and after Poland succesfully managed to get an exemption for their own military, Germany took their place. Germany shifted position recently and very thoroughly, so it's been speculated they got a polite phone call from the US.

Pat, naturally, is just acting on his "Trump bad" programming and has little to no idea what he's talking about.

For things like tanks and missiles yes, not for jets. The best ones like Northrop, GDC, Lockheed are American. If you want to stick with Europe than your only real choice is either France (Thales Group, known for the SWARM system) or Germany (Rheinmetall, who have been doing real well after Russia invade Ukraine).

I guess there's a gap when it comes to cutting edge fighter jets, (strategic) bombers, and missiles of all forms.
Not necessarily unique technology, but it's stuff that Europe right now just doesn't produce to such degree.

I'm not an expert, so I double-checked to see whether I was fooled by French propaganda and it seems that Rafale still uses some sensors from Collins Aerospace that they haven't been able to replace. Maybe some other components. Not necessarily unique, but enough that they have to comply with US regulations on international arms trade.

IMO this was at it's most obvious during the election, with how badly he was simping for Biden and how "He is the only one who can defeat Drumpf, child". He deflected and denied how badly the debate with Trump went to play defense for Biden because apparently running a more competent Democrat would be a disaster and would DOOM DEMOCRACY, but after Kamala became the Democrat candidate he just went along with it 5 minutes later and became a Kamala shill. I don't think he had any pushback at all two it except for like a tweet or two (far less than one of his average Enjoy Prison sessions), he just went along the nomination because it's what xitter dems said she would be what would Save Democracy, child. I think the closest thing Pat has to his own political position is that he likes guns because he thinks it makes him look manly, but he still has the most generic gungrabber mindset when the topic of banning AR's comes around. I've always found that funny because he's too stupid to realize that anything that would target the ownership of AR-15s would probably also apply to his gay-ass PS90 that he couldn't even bother to SBR.

It's abundantly clear that Pat is incapable of thinking two steps ahead about anything, but that's probably because he is Fat and his brain is full of too much pepperoni grease.

]I do medium voltage motors and variable frequency drives for solely industrial purposes and I have worry about ITAR and other shit.

Anything that could be potentially used for mulitaty purposes. For example, I was doing a project involving laser positioning on a quay crane. I had to have the lasers percisely positioned. We couldn't use any sort of laser detector other than a Spy Kid toy to see the beam. Otherwise, I would have required to get a formal license from the US and the EU.

The penalties are both civil and criminal for violating this stuff. The US Departmenet 9f Commerce releases a document regularly called "Dont Let this Happen to You" that detaols the companies and individuals they have caught.[/SPOILER
