My guess, whatever that's worth, as to what happened based on what has been reported so far:

The Mason family's daughter was the shooter's main target based on him traveling all the way to their house first and the daughter having injuries so severe that she was pronounced at the scene, while the mother and brother were transported to the hospital and pronounced there.

Fuentes was targeted because of an Arthur Bremer-style "kill the most famous person that is relatively easily available so people remember me" motive.

Yeah, I have to question what Nick is saying. He says he spends six figures a year on security but he lives in a shitty brick rowhouse in Chiraq and has to confront a doorknocker himself. You would think he would live in a mansion in Rockford and have men in black doing the diamond formation around him whenever he leaves his house.

You'd have to be retarded to think that owning guns somehow prevents other gun-havers from shooting you or others in your home, especially when they're suicidal and perfectly happy to throw their life away for the small chance they'll harm you.

Also, I hate to set the record straight in Nick's favor but multiple people ITT seem to have misread his comment on security:

And I don't care what this nut jobs motivation was, he almost did a wonderful thing and shoot Nick in the groin (he doesn't use it anyways). Anyone who shoots Nick or intends to shoot Nick or intended to shoot Nick for any reason as far I am concerned has or will do society a favor.

If Nick doesn't want to be a victim, then he should arm himself with bow and arrow like every other good American, otherwise he's just asking for it.

Frankly, I find it funny he actually had a guy at his door looking to shoot his load and he seems upset by it. He even fails as a gay guy.

I never said or implied that owning guns "somehow prevents other gun-havers from shooting you", I simply stated that if Nick is so worried someone will try to kill him, then maybe he should level the playing field with guns. You'd have to be the retarded one here to assume I meant anything else.
