I mean I think you have a point but my point is this. While yes, men are shallow, it's only to a certain point. We want supermodels, sure, but we don't need them. Those people in those houses get married before they have children, generally stay married, invest their wealth sensibly, want their kids to go to college and have good careers, and want their streets nice and clean.

To an extent, liberal support of degeneracy is a form of social flexing: I know these problems won't hurt me. If you complain about how crime or homelessness or violence in schools or immigrants depressing wages affects you, it shows that you are a poor with a shitty job who can't afford to move to a nice suburb.
When something goes wrong and these people actually do start to see homeless people or unpleasant immigrants in their neighborhoods, the "liberal" schtick falls away pretty damn quickly.

Looking at back at all of this footage of her back in the early 2010s, I think her obsession with Lady Gaga poisoned her. I’m going to sperg here a bit and go ahead and admit some extreme faggotry: I was once a pretty big fan of Lady Gaga. I love her first two albums and only skip a couple of songs should they come up in my playlist. It’s not a ‘guilty pleasure’ either. If Speechless from The Fame Monster album comes on, I’m cranking that shit up. I am also the type of sperg who ponders the lyrics of the music he listens to, so I’ve done a bit of assessing there.
2007 was a weird year for suburban white girls. The emo scenes were dying, so was MySpace, and young teenage girls were lost. Seeing as Alyssa would’ve been in the late stages of her teenage years at this time, being rebellious, and entering the early stages of adulthood, she was likely very emotional and vulnerable - easily influenced.
In comes Lady Gaga. She wasn’t your typical pop star or nasty-looking nigress, she was the weird pseudo-pastel goth anomaly dressed up in shit you could seemingly find in thrift stores who had her face decked out in very loud makeup - someone the white scene girls of yesterday could latch onto. Her early songs like Poker Face from The Fame album (her breakthrough hit) didn’t just emphasize women empowerment and sexuality, but also seduction and dominance. Sprinkled in, there are songs about being broke, hardcore partying, and advocating for hookup culture/sex work - simplified, being a whore. She also preached that women should be in total control of their lives without consequence with variations of the phrase “I’m a free bitch“ found in numerous songs.
I’m not going to go over every single song in detail, but I’ll point out a few from The Fame and The Fame Monster (2009) album which Alyssa probably took to heart. The song Money, Honey is literally about having a sugar daddy and being a materialistic slut. Beautiful, Dirty, Rich is an upbeat song about being trashy, thinking that you’re hot shit, and partying - probably Alyssa’s theme song. Monster, from The Fame Monster album, speaks on getting blackout drunk at a club with your friends, fucking some random guy, not remembering what happened, and romanticizing it. Seriously, look up the lyrics for yourself.
So, being an impressionable youth… clamoring to this weird looking broad who is singing songs about having sex freely, feeling empowered by said act, and treating yourself as a sexual object - sounds like a recipe to become the Alyssa we know, but there’s a few ingredients missing.
The thing that lead me to writing about this was seeing her gay little review of the Lady Gaga show she went to in 2010 or 2011. It was a post where she wrote about dressing up as Gaga and how all of the ‘monsters’ would come up to her and try to take pictures with her. This was her GodBear moment. If more footage of Alyssa before that concert could be found, I’d suspect you’d find someone a bit more normal. This was her turning point. She loved the attention. She thought she could be Lady Gaga, but she didn’t have any talent.
Alyssa’s fashion sense is this drift store chic, a hodgepodge of really loud and gaudy shit that no normal person would wear - but Lady Gaga would! I thought about this when I saw that retarded GUNT barrette in her hair. It’s totally something her idol would wear. Despite wanting to look poor and trashy, Alyssa isn’t totally committed to the poor person LARP. She spent over 500 dollars online on a tacky dress she never tried on prior and never had altered to fit her bizarre frame. I would wager that Alyssa has never had her bust measured, most women don’t. This is kind of crucial when you’re trying to exude that sort of seductive and dominant presence over the chuds. It’s not what you’re wearing, it’s how you wear it. Not looking confident when you’re constantly having to pull up your 500 dollar dress because your tits are too oddly shaped to fill it. You don’t look confident or sexy, you look like a stupid (albeit free) bitch that ran up credit card debt that you cannot pay for with an ill-informed purchase. Lady Gaga is not my personal cup of beautiful, but she is certainly dirty and filthy rich. Alyssa is just dirty.

While you can argue the true cultural impact Lady Gaga had, positive or negatively, Alyssa has ruined over a third of her life trying to emulate the efforts of a pop star - except in a medium that despises her. 10 years of angrily typing and shouting into the void for only a few short-lasting viral moments that paint her as a nuisance, not the icon so so desperately sees herself as.
Even if you’ve never listened to any of Gaga’s songs, you’re at least aware of them. You have an idea of who she is. Alyssa Mercante is the kind of stain you get when you accidentally drop a greasy fry on a shirt. You moan about it for five minutes, then forget about it. When you get home, you toss the shirt in the wash or discard it, forgetting that it ever happened.
