I’ve been thinking a bit about that, because I feel that way too. I didn’t catch the Dear John live, I saw it after May and then only through a MATI archive. I think it’s because it is just nakedly evil. All Captain Manning did was say “hey, we are worried about you. Please get better” as far as I understand it. I wish this was a thing, but it usually isn't. I think if you plead guilty and you then take it back even though you were totally guilty, you just go straight back to trial.
 
I'm still pretty convinced that the reason there was a continuance in the first place is because nicks only goal wasn't to necessarily win but to get the prosecution to drop the negligence charge. He will cop to drugs and the gun but he absolutely needs them to let him say he wasn't convinced of child neglect and the kid stuff was bullshit. If they gave him that he's taking the deal no question. I think they did and he will and then he will continue his Aaron crusade and push a "Jesus healed my addictions" angle.
