As far as probable cause and search warrants go, the process is meant to be rather elastic in terms of what is allowed and not allowed. Its tough to come up with a perfect law that always covers every situation in a just way. Leaning too much in one direction or another will result in very bad things happening. The checks in that system are the local police and ultimately the judges in the community. The police and the judges are both ultimately accountable to the voters if they get out of line. Both also usually have an informal idea of what the community will and will not accept from law enforcement.

Going after a drug warrant on a wealthy local attorney isn't something any police is going to do without a fair amount of thought. Its also something a judge might think carefully about in terms of looking at the warrant. But if you cross enough lines in a small town, the literal wrath of heaven is eventually going to fall on you. That is just life.

A generous reading could be that BBN meant Aaron created the account for such time as occasion for a post might arise, which didn't happen to arise until today, because why else create an account at all if you're only going to lurk? There are only two other possible reasons for an account that come to mind:

1. Registering would be the only way to view some occasional users-only content stuck in the Prospering Grounds forum pertinent to his situation, such as @Swerf'n'Terf's woefully underrated pre-HouseCat timeline project that Aaron might have found useful as a recap for his investigator, or something of more personal interest like @Not Who You Think's Kayla OP project that wasn't posted until November 10th but was at least announced as a coming attraction as early as October 31st just 2 days before Aaron registered.

2.
