I'm not a lawyer and I don't know shit about law, but I don't think dropping a lawsuit about hurt feelings on social media will go too far. I don't see a crusty-ass judge caring about your PTSD about an Internet war from a decade ago, no matter how much you lie about it. Also, common sense tells that, if you are unfairly fired because a third party complained about your behavior and you are demonstrably innocent, you should sue your employer before the third party especially if you don't have concrete evidence about the third party's involvement.

Their hope is they can bamboozle a judge (and later a jury) into believing their constructed reality, like they try and use their credibility as pseudojournalists to bamboozle the public into believing it.
