It’s decades since I took biology in HS, so maybe my knowledge is outdated, but I don’t think periods work that way. A uterine transplant is uterus only. No ovaries! Removing a females ovaries (bilateral oophorectomy) automatically stops periods, even if the uterus remains intact. In other words it puts a woman into surgical menopause immediately. A uterine transplant still requires IVF to produce a pregnancy, which is the only reason to have such a temporary transplant. They only last a few years at most. Unless they start transplanting working ovaries, there is still no way for a male to have a period, and even that is something I’d doubt could happen in a male body. Those woman who have uterine transplants will get periods again only if they still have viable ovaries.

Of course you're right, you absolutely need the entire shebang to have a period, and some women with ovaries and a uterus still won't menstruate or have kids.

I don't think I've seen a single poster here claim that "womb transplants" are possible. The idea has been discussed a few times, and the general consensus I've always seen matches reality, theres just too many different variables for it to be feasible, from the basic structure of the human body between the sexes as far as blood supply, nerve connections etc go making it impossible to begin with to the simple fact that a male brain just has not evolved to grow a fetus, the male body wouldn't know where to begin to provide the correct nutrients and triggers at stages of development and everything else, all that would have to be artificially introduced and I'm not sure we even know enough about how it happens step by step in females to reproduce that sucessfully in a male body.
Theres almost a billion years of evolution ever since the beginnings of sexually dimorphic reproduction that have created so many differences between males and females that don't have the science to bridge.
I doubt we ever will.
You'll see Astartes style artificial wombs before you ever see a male with an implanted womb carry a fetus to term. Growing a new life from a zygote to full term is a miracle of nature, one you're not going to be able to Frankenstein a male body into achieving.

There must be some number of troons delusional enough to think this will work, but what I've seen a lot more of on social media are the "I want a uterus transplant so I can have abortions" claims. While I'm sure most are AGP fetishists projecting fantasies, or trying to out-feminist the feminists, I'd bet there are more who mean it (transplant for abortion) than there are ones who'd actually want to go through pregnancy.
