Maybe he doesn't want to? Why should he start changing his mannerisms for someone rude (or clueless)?

You'd think the best way is to be direct & honest, instead of beating around the bush. Maybe that's what's failing since he mentioned "taking a hint", just say: "I'm not interested, thanks bye" or something.

I was coming at a point of avoidance, which is better than having a confrontation at all. If someone doesn't know you're gay he wouldn't come to harass you in the first place.

And if he was coming onto you for other reasons (like mugging). That's where a gun comes in handy.

I think it was near a gay bar. I was giving an example of how forward gay men are, that they will sexually harass (or assault) people. If he did think I was gay, it doesn't excuse it. I'm attracted to women, but I don't see women doing that kind of shit. And if he didn't think I was into men, that would make it worse, as there was no possibility of me being into it. That people who know you like men expect that you'll be into them is also true, but not necessarily the point of the example. That may not have been clear, as it did follow me bringing up that gay men think other gay men will be open to having sex just because they are gay earlier in my post.

From the standpoint of avoidance, of course you don't need to go around acting gay. And I don't. Or at least I don't think so. I look like a regular person. I didn't have any pride memorabilia or wear revealing clothing. It's like blaming women for being sexually harassed while walking around. Sure, if a woman is half naked its inviting trouble, but the presumption that if a woman was sexually harassed it must've been that she was walking around half naked is bullshit. Besides, the idea that gay men don't harass people unless they know they are gay is wrong. It's totally wrong. Gay men do it all the time. They don't do it to the same degree as if they think you are gay, but they do do it. This isn't the 70s where they'd get their ass beat for it.

As far as those kinds of situations go, I think the "LGBT community" sweeps for the behavior of gay people. There are massive problems of drug addiction, sexual assault/rape, and other things like that, which are apologized for and downplayed in order to maintain this fake image of normalcy for the general public. And when you do that you eventually get men naked riding bicycles in front of children.

For the record, I did say no, and then he kept trying to talk to me. My guess is he was drunk.

It definitely is real. I wonder if the origin is social or something to do with brain development, I remember looking into it a little while ago but I never found much. I reckon it’s a bit of both though. In my childhood/early adolescence the vast majority of my social interactions was with women and I had some flamboyant speaking patterns and mannerisms. In my later teen years though the majority of my friends were men and after a bit my speech changed and now I sound like a regular straight guy and my body language became a lot more masculine as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the faggcent has an impact on personality though since I still feel like my core personality is a lot more feminine than most other guys.

It's not difficult, I'm going to assume most of you live in America and I guess over there. if you live in a small-ish town, not close to any major cities, it probably is hard because you probably stand out. But if you're in a big city in Europe or even a normal town (in my experience), no one gives a shit and no one pays attention to you. Unless you walk through one of the many sand nigger territories then you may be thrown verbal abuse.

I guess it can be particularly bad in highschool years (public, low-mid tier) or even later, just because a lot of teens are retarded and actual bigots.

I was never out in secondary school (high school) but there was one kid who was and he got teased and bullied a lot, kids are dumb, and many act with sheep mentality. I hope these days people are more understanding and less retarded, though I am not highly optimistic.

Part of the fag voice thing I think is an affection some people put on for whatever reason, but I do wonder at times if it is somehow innate. My normal tone of voice I don’t think is very gay sounding, but I will admit when I’m using my “business” voice or if I’m nervous/shy for whatever reason my voice will go up a few octaves and I sound pretty queeny

The easiest place to hear a gay accent is in Ireland. They already sound kinda faggy but actual Irish fags are next level.
