Okay bro, we'll just have to wait and see how they perform if China actually ever decides to go to war, but I'd say the PLAN is the most important arm of the PLA, closely followed by the PLAAF, so it'd only make sense that they invest as much as possible in making sure their ships are actually good.

bitch i can snipe a drone out of the sky with a crossbow (except for the faster-end of FPV drones)

ive been crossbowing pigeons, mynas, jackals and sometimes even boars ever since i was like 14 (no guns here sadly, hence the crossbow), i even made a lil drone for target practice, had my sister fly it, and tried to shoot it out of the sky

i did it, but i destroyed 200 shekels worth of drone parts

Exactly, people like Elon forget that you need a lot of drones for them to be effective unless they're something like a Predator and that they can't fly higher than a couple hundred feet plus not much of a load they can carry.

As much as we like to take the piss on David, he is right about the F-35 being better than what people say.

What the (((Media))) loves to forget is that when the US military does training exercises, it does so with both arms tied behind its back because that gives actual useful information, as opposed to what Russia does which is to hamstring their adversaries to show off how much they could totally roflstomp everyone else, honest, promise.

why doesnt the US place remote control packages on an F-35 and have the pilot sit in a bunker somewhere in ohio and pilot it remotely?

u have a 0% chance to lose a pilot, u can pull off feats that'd kill any human pilot sitting there, u could maybe shave off some extra weight and space cuz no cockpit

im pretty sure they have satelite networks with low enough ping to do it,but if they don't than it makes sense why they havtn done this yet

You can't hack a pilot carrying 18,000 pounds of ordnance, including nuclear. You can cut off the radio link controlling a drone carrying that same payload.

You also can not hack drones guided by fiber optic, which are becoming more common in the Ukraine war due to being impervious to jamming with the only limitation being how much cable you have in your spool.

Which is why the best way to deal with drones is, ultimately, to shoot them down. I remember seeing an infographic about some new 12 gauge shotgun shell the Russians were testing (maybe even deploying) specifically for shooting at drones.

Let me show you a 10km fiber optic cable FPV drone
