He isn't ignoring it, he enjoys the high-risk behavior. It's like bug-chasing but almost worse. Also he very clearly sees her as the Harley to his Joker. He's going to be very disappointed to find that he can't get rid of the tulpa when she inevitably gets too needy and/or finds a new mark who will pay more attention to her.

Panty raids were a thing at colleges in the early 1950s. The way I understand it, is that the women dorms in that era were tightly locked down and the "raids" were really about very big groups of guys pushing their way into the women's dorms and everyone having a party. It ceased being a thing around the time when things became more relaxed on college campuses.

We need to send a team of scientists to check the groundwater in those two counties. But more generally having done service plumbing for a while I noticed that a lot of younger couples don't have art in their house anymore, just this empty feelgood nonsense. I think it's either a symptom or a contributing factor to people becoming more empty and vapid. The art you decorate your house with says something about your values.
