The dabbleverse started when Stuttering John (a literal nobody that was lucky enough to make Howard Stern laugh with his stutter in the 90s (and then Jay Leno hired him to spite Stern without knowing that John didn't write any of his bits, he just stuttered his way through the lines he was given), basically a guy who managed to fail upwards, make millions, waste them all and is now more or less destitute, does a podcast and whines about Trump constantly) went on to Chrissie Mayr's show, and during the interview Chrissie made an innocuous comment about how he (John) dabbles in comedy. John took incredible offense to this as he sees himself as a world-class comedian (since he leeched off of Artie Lange while they were both on Stern and got to do 5min sets before Artie like other Stern writers at the time because Artie took pity on them, it's worth mentioning that Artie used to give him a hard time about this and he would get as offended as he did with Chrissie or more because Artie actually was a comedian).

Anyway, it all started there. Stuttering John got mad that Chrissie Mayr said he "dabbled in comedy", from there, a bunch of unfunny retards on the Internet noticed and latched on to it so a whole "community" of podcasts was created around it, the only one I really know about is WATP (a show that was supposed to be about unknown podcasts but dedicate most of their time to John).
It's not funny, it's not entertaining, it's a bunch of middle aged unfunny people running the same joke into the ground. I think there's a lot of crossover with compound media/Cumia but I haven't paid attention in a long time because it's honestly uninteresting.

Now there's significant crossover between the dabbleverse and Rekieta/Steel Toe alogs. They're just looking for another target to milk.
