Keanu repeatedly implies that Nick was late or missed a drug test, but then says that she didn't hear it from anybody (even though she confirmed she was back in contact with April):

iirc they met at the school gym because Nick was a cool Tae Kwon Do sensei or something and Kayla was a Cheerleading captain. They made some kind of deal that if Nick got cool kids from Tae Kwon Do to join cheerleading Kayla would join Tae Kwon Do with some girls.
Then Nick started to "act" gay and joined cheer squad and had crazy underwear parties with Kayla and others at his dorm.

One of the issues I have here is I "turned" on Nick back in late 2020 because I began to see his rank immorality. That was a time when doing so wasn't very popular. I caught a lot of shit for holding by my convictions, but am happy to see I was ultimately vindicated.

So I get kinda irritated at people that suck him off and then only turn because the wind of public opinion shifts. Kiki and Geno are prime examples of people whose values and loyalties shift whenever it's convenient for them. I am told it's also a common thing that happens in the Dabbleverse.

Plus I'm just sick of e-thots in general. One of the best critiques I've heard from a female in all this came from Keri Smith.
