As stated on the games website, Exodus is "a new AAA science fiction action-adventure role-playing game franchise from Archetype Entertainment."

Now, to anyone who watched the reveal trailer, it seems remarkably similar to the Mass Effect series, this is almost certainly not a coincidence as the studio producing this game is, "led by industry veterans from BioWare, 343, Electronic Arts, Naughty Dog, and other AAA studios."

The games website is here while the companies website is here

I couldn't find a thread related to this game, so I decided to make it myself. Personally, I remain cautious as no real gameplay footage has been published yet.

Idk about anyone else but this has that DEI scent to it.

Which is unfortunate because I skimmed the website and the setting is not at all what was presented in that trailer. There's cyborg demons, sentient technopathic ravens, evolved offshoots of humanity, etc. The trailer just shows you five minutes of Space Columbus and her gimp when there's loads of actually somewhat interesting stuff going on.

Regarding DEI, the Wizards of the Coast logo on the website is a warning sign, considering what they're doing to Dungeons and Dragons.
Didn't they try to turn Aragorn into a nigger in their LOTR cards?

The mystery meat protag in the thumbnail tips it off every time. Every Ad Is Africans Now.

If this is another space game where I'm stuck playing as a fucking human i could give less of a shit.
It's not our fault the universe was meant to be conquered by humanity. Perhaps one day you will come to terms with your own humanness and stop being a xeno-loving faggot.

This game seems like it's made using the same recipe as Mass Effect but with culture war-infected ingredients. I would love to be proven wrong and have an actually good game released in 2024, but that is highly unlikely.

I'm wondering why wotc is involved to begin with. is it a studio owned by hasbro under wotc? are they using wotc material?
either working for 110% pozzed company or 5e in space doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence...

Well, WOTC been desperately trying to branch out from D&D after they lit a bunch of money on fire with the OGL fiasco, so I assume this is part of their strategy to try and cultivate new IPs.

A new sci-fi setting with interesting ideas. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, OP. I'll check in on it in a few years.

Interesting. The studio was founded by James Ohlen, lead designer/director who did Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, KOTOR and Dragon Age Origins.

From what I remember of him, unlike some of the unhinged ex Bioware devs, namely Gaider, he's always come accross as a level-headed, intelligent man who is very straight to the point when explaining his design philosophy.
