One thing that I'm still pondering is whether the Democrats truly left Harris out to dry with no backup from the very start, or if the Republican response to the fuckery of 2020 simply just incredibly effective. The sacrifice theory doesn't really make much sense to me, because they effectively set the entire downballot aflame by giving up that way.

Trump has been handed a golden opportunity to undo much of the damage caused by not just Biden, but Obama as well. At the same time, I'm having a hard time believing that simply taking any contests of election integrity to court was adequate to quash any attempts to cheat. There had to be an air of desperation, the fact that there were no stories of particularly brazen attempts to cheat as the night wore is... strange. Hell, it reflects poorly on the Dem 2020 performance now that there's this sudden 20mil deficit in turnout.

It's actually making me wonder if there might be some serious internal power struggle within the DNC that goes far beyond the visible areas where their coalition is fraying like the Israel issue. The campaign they ran was beyond sloppy and half-baked, despite dumping 1.6billion dollars into Harris alone.

Florida amendments need 60% to pass, and the abortion amendment fell short of that. The problem likely was that it created blanket protection for abortion up until viability, which is pretty late in most people's minds. I would consider voting for it if the amendment only sought protection up to 12-15 weeks. But viability? Nah, that's too discomforting.
