If it's any consolation, just think how funny it'll be when people replay this game in 10 years time. I'm re-reading a book at the moment that's about 7 years old and one of the characters referred to someone as a 'stan' and I frowned for a minute til I remembered what that even meant because the slang has already fallen out of use.

Even E.T. was successful by today's standards, it sold over a million copies in the fucking 80s. It was only catastrophic for Atari because they expected it to sell several million, which is why the extra carts had to get dumped after word of mouth spread that it was a giant turd.
