In my opinion, NYC and its immediate area should be its own state and the rest of NY should have its own representation. Upstate NY hates NYC because the city dictates what the rest of the state does. It's to a point that there are administrative contradictions between NYC and Albany, which is the state capital.
I hear about this all the time from people in California, Illinois, New York, Washington and Oregon. You're essentially hamstrung by these massive cities run by democrat politicians with their own agenda. In other states, large cities don't overrule the overriding cultural norms of the state and Louisiana is a good example. New Orleans is the largest city, left-leaning, but it doesn't affect local politics that come out of Baton Rogue all that often and doesn't sway the EC at all.

When you think about it. The EC was created when the US was a more agrarian society. Cities with insanely massive populations that swing the entire state didn't exist. Districting can resolve this, but realistically, massive cities should just be split away from the rest of the state. The rural areas of the state have representation, the cities have representation proportionate to their population and it does away with the winner-takes-all system we have now.

A voter that lives in the Adirondacks has less voting power than a voter in NYC. A voter in the Adirondacks is told that scary evil guns are le heckin bad mmkay and they should never have them and the people in NYC don't understand that in the Adirondacks, nobody is coming to save you, be it from a bear or a violent criminal. The voter in NYC and politicians that write these laws do not care about the voter in the Adirondacks, but hold more power over his life.

Now that I think about it, maybe you're right. Let them have their own state to run as they see fit.

For the record. I love bears and would be very upset if I had to shoot a bear. I'd still do it, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

Having lived in Amish Country, they are more of an X factor than people give them credit. They are very likely the reason PA turned red in 2016, and all the Amish who advertise politics I've seen recently are all Trump. You are correct, they don't get enough credit, and the Dems will never be able to convince them to go to their side.
Always knew the Amash were based. Smelly bastards, but boy do they make some good honey and molasses.

Of all the inventions that one feels makes people more social with their neighbors and willing to interact in the real world instead of the digital simulacrum, you'd think deodorant would be right at the top of the list.

This is exactly what needs to happen. Too often, states with large (D) population centers ultimately dictate the way the entire state swings often to the dismay of literally everyone else. If there is any reason to add a constitutional amendment, this would be it.
The only problem with this is that if you shift to congressional districts instead of winner-take-all, whichever party is in control of the state's legislature would have an enormous incentive to gerrymander the everloving fuck out of their constituents, both to keep themselves in power and make sure their guys get in the White House. It's not a big deal with states like Maine and Nebraska, but can you imagine the Category 5 shitstorm that trying to redistrict New York state would entail?

There have to be guardrails in place so legislatures can't pick and choose their voters, or otherwise you're right back to square one.

Nose blindness is real, how do you think people got by before regular bathing was a thing? Being smelly isn’t actually a problem, it’s being smellier than everyone around you that causes issues.

I don't like bears, but they're animals like all the others. The people running those states are so detached from reality that they can't grasp what it'd be like to run into one. They wouldn't understand what it means to take its life.

I honestly could never understand the fears of Project 2025. It reads like a shitty political satire and there is no way any of that shit would pass in congress. Are lefties just that jilted since Roe v Wade got tossed?

Regular bathing + using stuff to mask BO has always been a thing

It's modern fantasy that the people of the distant past were inferior because [reason]. The most common one being that they were dirty stinky

The only exception was when bathing wasn't really possible because winter. And then the peasants in the country would bring their livestock into their homes to keep them from freezing to death because barns weren't really a thing yet. So no one noticed the human BO because everything smelled like animal BO + animal shit. The rich could afford to heat water so bathing in winter wasn't a problem for them. Cities smelled of smoke, garbage, and human + animal shit/piss far stronger than any collective BO stink too, the vast majority of non-rich city dwellers bathed regularly as well

I do want to say this whatever happens shouldn't get anyone down. We still have lives, jobs, and families that give a shit about us. Yeah, it will suck if Kamala wins but the ultimate way to get back at these fuckers is to laugh at them and let them stew in their own misery. they will probably die with AIDS and known nobody gives a shit about their death. With that said LET'S GO BRANDON ORANGE MAN GOAT 2024.

It's bog-standard politics. Sometimes it's worth throwing a softball at a politician because they can glitch out and catch it with their teeth.

they've used up every single possible possible attack they could do to Trump directly in the last eight years. the only option they have is to attack people around him because no one's listening to what the media has to say directly about him anymore

"some people who he hired one said this thing"

"one of his supporters did this thing"

"a comedian at his rally said this thing"

if they don't learn their lesson the fatigue the public has from hearing attacks on him will start applying to anyone that even associates with him

Doesn't help that I still deal with a bunch of "right-wing" doomers as well; I've dealt with enough people insisting that all this is the prophecy of the Book of Revelation, and that they don't need to do anything because "God will fight their battles for them" and that they "know" everything will always turn out alright. Therefore, it's "great" to spend your life living in fear and doing jack shit about actual evil in front of you, because "good always wins in the end". Then they sit on their asses, getting confused when things continue getting worse.
Something I hate about a lot of Christian’s, and I’m a Christian myself, and this applies to a lot of boomer Christian’s, is they won’t do a single thing about the evil they are witnessing because they say that God will destroy the evil in the end. Ok, sure, but couldn’t the will of God also be for you to fight that evil? If you let the evil fester and do nothing about it, wouldn’t that make you just as bad?

It also falls into a whole other rant I could do about Christian’s not condoning violence or the killing of their enemies even if their enemies kill them, but I won’t go into that. I know this is the whole “we can’t let god do all the work” meme, but really.

Not saying I disagree that Trump would win in a fair election. Thing is... I'm fairly certain that the Dems are going to cheat again and knowing some of the people on the "political right", they're just going to let it happen again.

Make no mistake; I'm certainly voting for Trump - Kamala has already fucked up, and the leftist tards that constantly doompost everywhere are more than a bit tiring. I'm just wondering how things will be going this time, and whether or not things will really turn out okay. I mean, America's crammed full of idiots that genuinely think that Kamala is the messiah and Trump is the devil, not to mention the amount of illegals and thugs that have more rights than the actual native populations and working folk. They already blatantly cheated last time and won without repercussions, and I can't help but wonder if it's going to be the same shit four years later.

Basically, I'm hoping things will turn out okay, but there's plenty of doomers on both sides of the aisle that think otherwise.
Maybe having your voters to have already thought the election is going to be cheated would make them question why they should even bother voting in the first place was a bad mindset to start with.

They disbarred a lot of Trump's lawyers for even representing him. Not to mention their BPD heel turn on Musk and even Trump himself. I want to add that their pushing people out of society, polite or not, is already creating a mirror/shadow one. The more they push, the less power heckin' cancelling will have.
