Well, he's legally a rapist because children, by default are not assumed to be able to consent. Tho, I'm not even sure if it's called rape in all jurisdiction but just molestation instead. Which would be more accurate. It is probably called rape because children depend on their parents, so affronting them, by default, is a latent, existential threat to them. I think that's how you could and should frame it. But consenting to sex on false grounds as an adult is something entirely different.

Again. It’s not completely understood what triggers puberty.

Plus, older kiwis like myself, can probably point to the year when their opinions changed on certain matters or other things made sense in a deeper way.

Personally I point to 25-ish, then early 30s and now post 40.

I don't think it is that unusual, if you look at sites like Mumsnet, it's not uncommon for mothers to be trying really hard to tell their kids that they are not trans while the Dads affirm. The big difference is that mothers are generally the primary caregiver, and usually have the majority of custody if the parents aren't together. We usually see the mother's steering the trans-ship, because mothers are usually the parent who does the most active parenting, including the interactions with teachers/doctors/etc. So if the mother is a TRA who wants a transkid, it's easier for her to manufacture that. If the Dad is the TRA, he's less likely to be able to override the mother's influence.

I get what you're saying but there are different kinds of rape (or sexual assault if you don't like that term) not all of them are the violent assault that springs to mind when you think "rape".
Rape at its basis is just sex without consent. What about a girl that gets drunk at a party, and is too inebriated to consent, maybe passes out, or passes out after she consents, and then 3 of the dudes buddies take a go?
