However I found out he's been at this whole webcomic for over 10 years now and I found some where he talked about himself and his comic and I found it pretty fascinating to see insights into his insanity. I'll upload the comics in case he suddenly goes DFE mode.

Null's explanation of Drew DeVault lore was a little off in the recent MATI. I think prollyanotherlurker is planning to write a more detailed clarification, but just briefly:

There are two competing systems in Linux for drawing windows to the screen. One is called X11, and has been around for decades. People don't like working with X11 because it's a tower of duct tape, and many parts of it are poorly documented.

The other is Wayland, which is comparatively newer. Wayland has been around for I think a decade now but still struggles to support a lot of system configurations, the biggest being NVIDIA GPUs. As an aside, Wayland bros get very mad when you point this out, and Drew DeVault has actually written a post (now deleted) that compares people who don't like Wayland to anti-vaxxers and flat earthers.

Both of these projects are currently maintained by freedesktop.org

Neither of these tools are enough on their own to get a fully functioning desktop environment, they are just systems for drawing rectangles on the screen, and handing out handles to buffers that applications can stick their graphics data in. You need some kind of program that controls how those windows move, what happens when you press a key on the keyboard or a button on your mouse to modify the state of those windows, draw the statusbar, etc. In X11, this tool is called a window manager. In Wayland, it's called a compositor.

This is where Drew DeVault and Vaxry work in the stack. Drew developed a compositor called Sway, and Vaxry developed a compositor called Hyprland.

Hyprland does not compete with Wayland, it competes with Sway.

I’ve been in commune with top Asian spies, and apparently it’s not just Korea and Japan that’s having fucking problems though they are the worst with it.
Most of Asia, especially SEA, is having a bit of an issue with young men and women not getting along for multiple reasons. Part of it is that they are still very heavy on tradition, that Asians are weird, and the changing economy has made things a bit upside down. It’s like mixing chlorine and bleach, it doesn’t end well.
Imagine this. You are young guy, you want a gf. In order to acquire a gf, you must date. The way it works in at least Vietnam and Thailand is that you take a girl out and she invites a ton of her friends, that’s just how they do it there. But, you the guy have to pay for like a half dozen people’s lunches, and the more you pay the more ‘face’ everyone gets. You just can’t do that working a basic young person job, you just can’t afford that, so a lot of guys just say fuck it and goon all day instead because they can’t afford that shit just to try and date.
And then the guys are developing this crazy inferiority complex about how much being the Asian race sucks, and much like White guys they start to really hate their own women and see them as hoes and as the enemy. And then the women are like, fuck that I’m not shacking up with these crazy losers who hate me I’m going with that farang over there who’s actually willing to have a relationship. I deadass knew a Japanese chick who was with a literal neckbeard weeb because he wasn’t a crazy Jap, that’s how bad it’s got for the women over there.
Josh is right when he says if you just aren’t a violent misogynist you can easily get your own Korean Rice Qween, they are in dire straights over there and their governments are freaking the fuck out over it because you need young people for a nation to actually work and they ain’t doing shit.

Dude, look into the Chinese Bai Lan / Tang Ping movement. It means “let it rot” or “lay flat”. It’s hard for me to parse exactly what’s up, I don’t speak the language, but according to those from the far East it’s spawned similar movements in other Asian countries because of how shit their work culture is and how the rewards are deemed not worth it especially for the Zoomer age demographic.

It's not even that. Wayland is a fucking *protocol*. A bunch of XML files, that's it. So anytime you say "This Wayland shit is fucked and broken compared to X", they'll reply "it's just a protocol bro, blame gnome/kde/the app/my balls"

The protocol is dogshit and it's such a step "forward" that what used to be window managers are now essentially display servers which need to implement this magical protocol. What, you think each one of them will do it poorly and in different ways? You're right on point.

But why not use a library you ask? Indeed, there is one, and a reference implementation. Which none of the big players use, and hyprland got banned from *that* so now it has to write it's own from scratch.
 
We got some Baldomantent I think I'll drop "Nicky's a Cuck". I did earlier in the thread but I wasn't satisfied with the mix. I reworked it, did some panning, made it sound fuller by duplicating tracks, and putting some harmonization on the vocals. Enjoy!
This was a joint project between me and @Grayson Death Carlyle. He provided the drums, I was on guitar, bass, and vocals

@Null do you think you could play this during a Rekieta segment? I think it'd get some laughs.

These are people who've been generationally primed to trust the media that has been screaming to them for the past ten years the world is fucking ending because a reality t.v. star decided to run for president and hasn't died yet.

No it's pretty novel and only possible with multiple advancements in technology the prime culprit being mass media/mass psychology. Most of these people were normal before being "activated" by the media environment they've been stuck in for the past eight years, two of which some were effectively locked in house arrest.
