Frontiers. Frontiers has a mixed reputation, but depends on the field. The kind of journal a lot of people end up reading but few would admit submitting to. For profit (most every journal is) but in shady way. Can’t say what happened in this case but apathetic reviewers are common enough these days.
It is obviously the latest "thing" of the "current discussion", so they'll use this teen's corpse (while it is still hot) to rally against AI. @Brown Gollum said it, the mother seems like a twat, and ignored or didn't have time for him like a normal parent would, and now they will either blame guns, or whatever.
It has been posted before, yet I have to ask - why is this art so ugly? It almost seems like "I'm gonna fuck up my own art in order for AI to not understand, so it'll be untraceable! I win, I win, I win!"
That's what Lavendertowne's art normally looks like. The glaze is just the shit cherry on top.

This trigga could just as well have killed himself after laying on a rock in the empty forest and having a back-and-forth conversation in his head. Blaming the AI is like saying 'stupid gun' after you pulled the trigger while it was pointed at yourself and the bullet just decided to go off because of it.

I'm gonna bet 1-2 years he's going on that route, but i know i'll be proven wrong sooner. There's a fairly huge number of people(from twitter) getting tired of his slop videos, so its one of the main reasons why he addressed them in this video
That's common in art community, a lot of artists i met used AI for inspiration. Some artists encourage you to "steal" AI generated art on pinterest, like the AI generated adoptables.
