Tyler, the Creator's new album, Chromakopia, is set to release on the 28th. It appears to be a multimedia project that is the culmination of his experience as a musician, filmmaker and fashion designer. Tyler's producing this project under the pseudonym, Tyler Okonma. The last time he took that name was for the gayest nigger Grammy award winning album, Igor, a generation defining and heart breaking rap opera about how Jaden Smith won't fuck him in the ass anymore.
The trailer drop visuals presents heavy showdows, striking contrast and strangely the end; a deep saturation. A wild departure from the pastels of previous work. The music starts not with music but with marching and a theremin. A blatant call to arms but from an older time and a strange direction. And of course, the most striking visual, the mask. Tyler has, since his debut, donned characters for plot devises in his albums but this is the first time he's ever hid.
The mask holds a significance beyond me. I've seen this happen before with Kanye. I believe it's an artistic attempt to depart from yourself. But in recent times, when the rapper dons the mask, shit gets crazy. Kanye donned the mask and became Ye. A white nationalist, anti-zionist trump supporter. Luckily Kanye is a retard and was too inept to lead the world's weirdest and gayest race war but Tyler has a scary brilliance to him. The album undoubtedly will be another cultural icon, probably generation defining, but what will be the message projected by this media?
Now, to enter the relm of complete speculation. Know I may be and am probably wrong but I believe this to be Tyler's personal YouTube account and this is the full St. Chroma song.
The full lyrics of "St. Chroma extended" are powerful, horrific and telling. He mocks religion, saying he's a religious lesbian and God. Also strangely says he's, "the modern day Adolf". Weird but not out of the norm for Tyler's brand of bombastic controversy. But the line that grabs me the most is, "You become a monster and start to feed your ego." This solidifies my fears on his donning of the mask. He's wearing it for the same reason that Kenye did, to hide his ego. To depart from himself.
Kanye donned the mask after a fashion collaboration with Balenciaga. He became a white nationalist and did horrific things with race relations in the United States. He did an, albeit poor, attempt at running for presidency in 2024. Tyler has been shouting out Balenciaga in his music since 2019. They've had multiple fashion collaborations now and I'm sure everyone on this site knows about the pedophilic tendencies of Balenciaga. I know this album will be brilliant, beautiful and the sound defining the taste of children as Tyler has done before, even to me with his generation defining work, WOLF. I fear Tyler will be Ye 2.0 with more spine and brains. Will he become a white nationalist leader? Will he be a guest on Infowars? Will he run for 2028? And should I buy box set number 7? That green cap is fucking sick!
