I started watching wrestling again in 2022 after over 15 years of tuning out because I had 0 interest in what WWE was offering and thought the product was shit and would even have a go at my best friend because he refused to ever tune out even though he knew it sucked all through the pg era. When I came back to it in 2022 I was excited there was a new kid on the block and AEW was my go to for well over a year. I'd even rush home from work on Wednesday's so I wouldn't miss the first minute of Dynamite, and I tuned into every ppv. I even went to my first live event in about 20 years when they had a Dynamite up in Worcester, MA in 2022.

Then, the booking continued to get worse and worse and I finally tuned out because the product was was no longer entertaining. So, you pissants with your victim mentality aren't going to come in here and sling mud and not expect to get popped in the mouth while spewing horseshit because your favorite product to consoom is objectively inferior and on the flipside WWE's product has only improved and I, like many others, decided to tune out.

Fucking moron. :story:
I did this thing where I only watched WWE PPVs(pirated streams of course) from about 2010 or so until 2017. In 2017 it got so god awful, I couldn't even watch the monthly PPVs anymore.

I watched stuff like TNA, ROH and MLW off and on over the years leading up to AEW's launch, and I was so, so hyped for AEW. I bought the first PPV and used a VPN to subscribe to AEW+ on Fite. I PAID for it after years of only watching wrestling on cable and pirate streams for years because I wanted it to succeed. That's how hyped I was. My and a buddy bought every PPV up until 2022 or so when it really went off the rails. I am absolutely gobsmacked people can't accept that there's been a decline in the product, and call you a WWE-Stan for pointing it out.

That's exactly the problem with these idiots. We liked AEW, want(ed) it to succeed. But what the fuck are we supposed to do when something gets worse? Pretend everything in this burning building is ok? The product is mediocre and it's fine to call it out. I loved WWF, WCW, and ECW when I was younger so trust me, I have plenty of fandom to give to multiple promotions if they deserve it. I even enjoyed watching a little bit of TNA on-demand back in the early-mid 2000's.

But it's peculiar that it's ok to dunk on WWE whether they're riding high or flaming out but saying anything negative about AEW means we hate everything about it, hate their fanbase (I can't stand their fanbase because they act like zealots), and we're just bullies punching down on the little guy or something. Let WWE booking fall off a cliff and have viewership go down 300k and see what sort of reaction the mental midgets would display.

I've been an AEW fan from day one and even i'll acknowledge that they've been threading water for the guts of 12 months. They have a ridiculously stacked roster of talent but TK can only seem to book "dream matches" for the "sickos" every second week and the rest of the product is largely pointless/predictable. He needs to let someone else help him handle the week-to-week TV product.

That said, i literally can't watch WWE. It isn't wrestling. It's copy/paste Marvel movie shite. I can't give a shit about the Rocks family, i don't care about Phil and his friendship bracelet and all the NXT people are just interchangeable future midcarders with generic names like Chet Hankerson. I'm glad that the company is doing well because of the whole "rising tide raises all ships" aspect but i can just section off the entire thing in my mind and simply feel a bit sad when someone i actually enjoy signs with them because they won't be doing anything even vaguely interesting for the next 3-5 years.

What is the best joshi promotion to follow?
Stardom if you're into workrate. It's a very New Japan style promotion from a production and in-ring standpoint. TJPW leans more into the personalities I guess you could say. Workrate isn't the top priority, but the top matches are still really good. If you're into stuff like idols and waifu shit it's pretty based. They stream all their shows live on https://www.wrestle-universe.com/en and the big shows all have English commentary. That site also gets you Noah, DDT, and a bunch of other promotions too so it's a pretty good deal. Marigold just started up and it's alright. Doesn't really do much to distinguish from the other promotions.

What is in the water of Jacksonville that makes everyone in the company act like spoiled brats?
Their boss also acts like a spoiled brat because he literally is a spoiled brat, so they think it's okay.

I like Ricochet solely for his in-ring stuff but he is absolutely dog-shit on the mic so he'll never be a top guy.
He was okay in New Japan, but I liked him best as Prince Puma in Lucha Underground because I didn't have to see his fruity face.

Vince is gone. It's Trips' show now.

He needs to let someone else help him handle the week-to-week TV product.
The best financial investment Khan could make is hiring a competent booker. Instead, he rather smash his action figures together like a child.

AEW are set to make a profit of between $61 and $76 million next year. They'll be around for a while yet.
Based on what exactly? AFAIK, all of AEWs financial info that have been released have come from "wrestling journalists". If they are set to make a profit, good for TK, but please pardon me if I choose not to take the word of Dave Meltzer, one of his lackeys or Khan himself. Has anyone actually looked at his books?

AEW keeps rewarding the same shitters that have proven time and again to be temperamental about being featured if they aren't winning (MJF has fled again) or seemingly are noted ratings poison (Hangman). I've said it before, AEW want to elevate new names right? Than strike whilst the iron is hot and do something with the Outrunners. But instead, Tony has been attempting to get these two shitters over. His reward? Nearing 500k average viewership. When Fuego was fighting Miro over two years ago, you had close to 900k weekly. Fugeo had more pull. FUEGO

I'll never understand tribal smarks......you rightfully criticize AEW's shitty decisions and you're auto-labeled as a WWE mark when there are literally a lot of wrestling promotions to choose from if you dislike AEW and WWE. That's the IWC for you.

The reasons why I've tuned out of AEW is that, aside from still using CM Punk for a pathetic ratings grab, is their constant behind the scenes drama that's more interesting than their actual product, their EVPs & recent talent acquisitions being ratings poison and their utter lack of storytelling in general.

Also, I'm still skeptical regarding AEW's future despite having a new deal if they still can't pull off more than 700k viewers in general.

you have to be a class A mongoloid. im talking that stand for wwe humanoid and his family to think year 5 of coconut niggers and year 3 of dominick mysterio is good tv. what the fuck is wrong with you people lmao

While his wallet isn't as open as it was a few years ago, Daddy Khan is still available if Tony needs some stacks of banderooskis for blow AEW blow for himself and the boys. When thinking or talking about AEW's finances that should always be in your mind

Sell me AEW. And don't cop out with the "hurr rasslin's bettur", what should I pay attention to?

There's also more wrestling in the world that isn't WWE or AEW. Like TNA is pretty decent most of the time.
I've actually been watching a few OSW Reviews for TNA and have been surprised that it seems actually interesting stuff. Like shit I'd actually watch.

It's weird because there's a lot of variety with TNA. You want the ECW or nWo pandering shit? You've got that. You want stupid death match shit? You've got that. You want workrate shit? You've got that.

AEW is just workrate, workrate, workrate, with little blips of entertaining stuff here and there. Toni Storm is a fun and interesting gimmick, although I think the clock is ticking on that one. Outriders are fun. Danhausen was fun before he was beaten into the fucking ground and overexposed.

Can't we just agree that today's wrestling is all shit, and that wrestling in the 80s and 90s was 1000 times better?
I fucking sick of memberberries and people going on and on about how tne golden age of media always conveniently lines up with your formative years/early adulthood
