Thing working against the Walker Bros. is that Seltzerberg had studio backing and Breen's looked upon as "So bad, It's good". Not even their co-stars (save Lewis and Matthew) have much positive to say about them and their lack of film skills.
Also, to my knowledge, Seltzerberg and Breen didn't have a stated humblebragadocious ambition to wholly change the face of entertainment.

And while I won't deny that Walker, Channel Awesome, etc, have their place in the history of the Internet, the world seems to have turned the page on them and hasn't wanted for anything.

Notice how he only considers "truly" bad the sequels to his favorite "flawless" films- (Hunchback and Beauty/Beast).

Anyone calling the Hunchback of Notre Dame 'Flawless', or any Disney film for that matter, need to get their head checked. Dougs seems to remember the cool shit (Hunchback happened to be on the other day, so I thought I;d give it a watch) like Hellfire, but forgets all the really lame humour throughout much of the film.

I truly believe that "adults" who obsess over Disney movies have some issues going on.

Mostly obsession with their younger years, I'd say. If there's one thing we all have is nostalgia, (Ironically enough in Doug's case). For example, I still have a soft spot for the Phantom Menace, because its one of the first films I can remember watching. I would not, however, go on a screed about how Phantom Menace is flawless and how amazing it is, because in hindsight it isn't.

I remember seeing the film when I was younger, and frankly, aside from the visuals and "Hellfire", it's not all that great.

IMO it's a decent movie, but it certainly has its issues. To hold it up as some golden standard for Disney when they produced a ton of better animated movies in that decade is just silly.

I think Hunchback is fine if you take out the damn gargoyles. It's definitely got some impressive visuals and I do like how it took a few risks in terms of "family entertainment".

That isn't to say that it's flawless or perfect by any means or that it should be held up to the highest standard possible like Doug would do.

And it's obvious that Doug's not all that great an illustrator either. And just trying animating his scribbles only makes it worse.
Did you know Doug has a deviantArt page?
http://douglasdarien.deviantart.com/

But of course, he very seldom visits it now.

He has made some kinda nice stuff back then... but considering this isn't his main job anymore, I guess he wouldn't put as much effort into it.
Even if his show needs a drawing, a quick scribble seems to do the trick for him.

A shame he doesn't give as much effort to it these days.

Remember when Nostalgia Critic had drawn title cards by marobot?

And now it's cheap Photoshopped photographs since the reboot? (with only a few exceptions?)

Almost as sad as AVGN no longer having drawn title cards after episode 100... until 139, that is. (good! Although two of the following episodes wouldn't have them)
It was weird the bullshit excuse they initially gave for no longer doing drawn title cards, calling it "redundant". Uhhh, what?

Whatever happened to Marabout? I'm thinking there's some shady shit behind the scenes.

It's Channel Autism we're talking about here. There's ALWAYS shady shit going on.

He gives zero shits about anything but making a buck and keeping his sinking ship of a site afloat since his "Reboot".

It's not even close to 'Nolstalgia' anymore. This moron is "Reviewing" ( And I use that term very loosely) stuff that's still in fucking theaters!

Haha! Is there more stuff like the guy who "worked on Kickassia"?

Haha, the mental gymnastics he goes to in order to justify everything he does.
"It's nostalgic if you remember it after you saw it, even if it's hours after!!" or something like that he said.

What, has he stopped putting on his long greasy black wig and strawman any criticism harder than Andrew Dobson ever will?? (seriously, I always hated the "Douchey McNitpick" segments)

My thing is this: who the fuck cares if a few assholes in the comments point out a flaw? How fucking thin-skinned are you to not only address something so petty, but create an entire character and series to address something so petty?

if it's something glaring like the name of so and so was wrong, then just edit the description and you're done.

EXACTLY.

He IS thin-skinned.
Doesn't he realize what to expect when you're being a celebrity (or like he spells it, "celeburty" :dumb:) on the Internet?

So because a fucking COUPLE of comments supposedly complained about the new wall's color behind him, he makes a skit strawmanning his "negative fans".

Because all his negative fans share the exact same points of views, right??
I think he once said something like "Are my fans schizophrenic or something for holding those contradicting views?"
Wow. Exceptional. Honor roll. :dumb:

His white knights tend to be even worse.
I distinctly remember a commenter saying about the "wall color complainers":
"These are the same people who complain about the skits in his newer videos".
:autism: Wow. Can you prove that, buddy? Can you?

Typical white knight:
"Oh yeahh? Well, he had skits since his first videos ever!! They were always there!! Literally nothing has changed!!"
:c Reverse slippery slope fallacy right there!!

Doug Walker fanboys are really a league on their own. I'm kinda surprised when people complain about bad fandoms, they never mention them (and how they go around parroting the gospel of their messiah).
