I'd call this whole story self explanatory really.

In a piss poor attempt at eliminating a medium-sized black market the government introduced strict new foreign currency laws, effectively banning the exchange of local currency for US dollars, Euros or British Sterling.

This has had a disastrous domino effect on the wider economy, with businesses unable to import and export vital goods and services, the economy has been slowly collapsing.

This has now begun to bite hard into the medical sector, with no ability to import much equipment and other necessities such as drugs Venezuela's hospitals are rapidly becoming a disaster zone.

This is in spite of the fact that the government of Maduro continues to spout out increasingly deluded statements and claims that Venezuela has a great healthcare system and isn't increasingly a bankrupted shithole that has run out of toilet paper, oil, and other basic necessities.

The sacrifices of the Bolivarian revolution will be destroyed if they don't go full Marxist.

How did Bolivar become a sweetheart of the Marxist left anyway? He was a wealthy landowner who mostly favoured Republicanism from what I've been able to tell.

Because it was against US imperialism and according to Maoism and other developments of Marxist theory, imperialism is the primary contradiction.

No, it's not contradiction at all. In fact, for Marxists, imperialism is a logical consequence of capitalism.

But while we're at imperialism, I understand why an anti-imperialist leader would be an inspiration to Marxists of today. I would like to know, however, why, while condemning American imperialism, they openly welcome what Russia is doing in Eastern Europe.

They're aren't socialist.

They pretty much fucking are, Chavez tongued Castro's asshole harder than most of Fidel's old harem did.

The whole point of them keeping the other classes around was to play perpetual victim by constantly blaming, harassing and slowly marginalizing the opposition groups. Problem is, this excuse wears very fucking thin when nobody can do something as simple as wipe their arse after a shit. Much like all socialists and SJWs and all these other regressive arseholes we come across, the more you push into the pit the greater the risk the pit just floods and drowns you.

You can typically see a socialist state a mile off from the way they fuck up basic necessities for the wider populace whilst, somehow, finding enough (usually through corruption) to keep the important people in toilet paper and food. Namely the army and Police.

It would only be socialist if the state owned all means of production and they don't believe the US would shut that down.

They need to nationalize the tech related to oil production and lots more. Kick out the US and bring the bourgeois to justice by whatever means.

Venezuela has nationalised:

  • The Oil Industry
  • The largest rice mill
  • Nearly 500,000 acres of arable land.
  • Nationalises and redistributes farms at will.
  • The fertiliser industry
  • Glassware factories
  • Threatened Empress Polar repeatedly with nationalisation, unions shut the brewery down in an attempt to get the govt to nationalise it.
  • The Cement Industry
  • The Gold Mines
  • The Steel industry
  • The Railways
  • Ferries
  • Seizes homes to kick out the residents to make way for tourists on the Los Roques archipelago.
  • Toilet Paper Factories.
  • Price controls on basic necessities, making most basic production industries insanely unprofitable.
But yeah, please, keep saying how "they're not socialist" and how they don't "own the means of production".

The fuck is it with socialist people and saying endlessly how every fucking country on earth that was socialist wasn't fucking real socialism? Is it part of the general brokenness of left wing people?

Vaas, cover this shit for me, yeah?

AJAJAJA NIGGA WHAT? since millennia we are using chinese tech to extract oil and is been a monumental failure, every single person has told us to hire americans like we did in the old days to make our facilities at least barely productive and maduro refuses just because his pride doesn't let him

There is no "bourgeois" to kick, everyone that has money leaved this shithole

Venezuela Removed From South America’s Trade Bloc Mercosur

BRASÍLIA—Venezuela was notified Friday that it is being kicked out of South America’s trade group Mercosur over its failure to comply with the pact’s democratic principles and trade bylaws.

The decision is a new blow to embattled Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as his country has descended into crisis, ravaged by rising social and political turmoil, food shortages and runaway inflation.

In a letter addressed to Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, Mercosur’s member states, led by Brazil, said the oil-rich country had been stripped of membership rights immediately and that it will be required to renegotiate its membership.

The Venezuelan government said it is being unfairly targeted by right-wing regional leaders and that it complies with bylaws.

The debate over Venezuela’s role in the trade bloc comes as new conservative, market-friendly administrations across the region are at odds with Mr. Maduro’s crackdown on the opposition. Brazil and Argentina led a recent effort to block Venezuela from taking its turn as the trade group’s rotating leader.

How long before Maduro resigns?

This was fucking amazing, Chavez sucked hundred of dicks and gifted tons of oil just to get accepted in the MERCOSUR, it was so much of a achievement that he was bragging it for days in national TV.

Then he died,Dilma was kicked, Peru was uncucked, The Doctor restored Argentina, Chile will not help us for all the oil in the world and Bolivia is going to get uncucked anytime soon, and now our SPIRITUAL LIEGE died too, is a bad year for him but he will survive like the cockroach he is

The Venezuelan government said it is being unfairly targeted by right-wing regional leaders and that it complies with bylaws.

Nah they are blaming America, same as yesterday when the Bank's system suffered a catastrophic failure nationwide people could not buy anything because the cards were useless and for more salt there is not paper money anywhere

In words of the great banana "We suffered a Cybernetic attack that some international party plotted to ruin venezuela"

The problem for this statement is that he claimed that "He knew it was going to happen" of course he knew, the system runs using CANTV (Nationalized phone company and only provider of Internet and everything that requires a phone) there has been reports for YEARS that the system need upgrades but maduro can't do it because all the money is wasted importing food

Yesterday was a recipe for a disaster, first the tugboat and the bonus for christmas seasons (called Aguinaldo) was payed, second people NEVER EVER PAY with bills and those are extinct here, and third the system was having meltdowns nationwide to the point that there are places where there is no service for months or years, combine all of this and boom all your money is sealed in banks

So yeah, yesterday was Mad Max level of crazy

So after all that fucking work to join the Mercosul, you guys just got fucked for it.

I ain't even mad bro.

I'm wondering, Whatever to the Brazilian leadership in the region? Ever since Dilma got suspended, the Brazilian speech has gone mute. Didn't Temer want to keep stability in the region? Why hasn't Brazil tried to ease tensions in Venezuela?

He hasn't built up any legitimacy yet. And half of his ministers are now facing corruption charges.

And the fact that dealing with us doesn't give them any advantages, they don't even need oil now that they discovered a giant reserve in their shores, they still sell us food, almost all the food here is from brazil

Temer is legitimate despite unpopular and most of his proposals are approved or being approved by Congress and Senate.
We don't intervene in the region ubless it's starts to affect our interests, if Venezuelans continue pouring down or if maduro goes apeshit and starts to shoot on protesters then you wi definitely see a reaction.
We already have deployed fighter bombers to the Amazon airbases to destroy the Venezuelan airforce on the ground.
Our fighters are inferior, but we have AWACS support, so we can see the Venezuelan planes from their take offs giving us superior situational awareness.
