the thing with blackbeard is that he is oddly durable and strong enough to have two devil fruits. we also do not know if he has the awakened version of either fruit. i suspect that it will seem like an easy win for luffy until blackbeard is forced to try. he is the exact opposite of luffy so i imagine he will find a way to take away luffys powers making him unable to do anything but haki.

I don’t think he’s gonna take away Luffy’s powers. Nullify them maybe because that’s what his original devil fruit does.

As for “until he’s forced to try,” isn’t that kind of how it usually goes? Or at least there’s a clear shift in who has the edge? Kaido was whooping Luffy’s ass until Luffy unlocked Gear 5.

Honestly, the only thing I can see is that we get some payoff on that talk of Blackbeard not being the one Roger is waiting for. But Luffy is, because while Blackbeard is a force of chaotic Evil, Luffy is a force of chaotic good (while Roger was a chaotic neutral or chaotic good, had the same dream Luffy has, and felt he was “too early”, to do anything with Joy Boy’s treasure, but I guess Luffy will be right on time).

He went after Magellan partly because he had no choice if he wanted to recruit Level 6s (he might had been able to persuade Magellan to hand some over as Warlords can recruit prisoners but since there was a prison break, his words would fall on deaf ears) and partly because he underestimated an experienced Paramecia. Blackbeard might be cunning but he does not know everything.

That is kind of my point, Blackbeard fights when he has to, when it actually matters for his goal.

Blackbeard lost on that, but he had three of his TOP GUYS with him.

Did he lose? Law got sent running and only managed that because Chopper gave Bepo some rumble balls.

And of note : He was hoping that Luffy would be the one show up at Winner Island..also IIRC Law kept his Road Poneglyph copies in his hat..which he had to leave with Blackbeard.

So Blackbeard has 3 of the Road Poneglyphs.

so that means it all comes down to whoever finds the man with the burn scar blackbeard talked about. if that turns out to be dragon like some think it is that could turn out pretty interesting.

I feel like one of them (Buggy) is going to realize you don't need all four Road Poneglyphs. Oda described it as an X made of X's on a map, so you only need three (or two, if you're lucky and they're opposite corners).

If you only have 2 locations, that's still a 1/3 chance of it working.

Wasn't it said that Laugh Tale couldn't be found by conventional means, meaning that you can't just use a map or a log pose?

True, though it'd need a big-ass bubble down there permanently and that'd really stand out to mermaids and Fish Men, you'd think one of them would've mentioned it to someone at some point. Also with all this underwater stuff, I guess that means mermaids and Fish Men were just aware of all of these underwater ruins and never bothered to tell anyone.

Well, Hody Jones wanted to be King of the Pirates, so he'd probably be extremely interested and would've gone there ages ago. Also not everyone despises them, and assuredly someone would've been desperate enough with the resources (Kaido and Big Mom for instance) to investigate.
