If John Walker Flynt is to be believed, Brett Farve was the QB of the football team back then when the little shit was running around on campus not learning a damn thing.

Flu is so old.

That's correct, John. None of the items you listed are "programming".

"Programmer" isn't the same as "Software Engineer"

Software engineers, often called software developers, plan and create programs. They analyze user needs, design software and then test it to ensure quality. They give instructions to programmers who write the software codes. Engineers who specialize in the operating systems needed by computers are called systems software developers. Those who focus on applications, such as games, video editors, word processors and databases, are called applications software developers. They require a minimum bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field. Though they do not usually write code, they also need strong programming skills to communicate properly with programmers.

Let's look at it more closely.

They analyze user needs
Typing minigames and following Brianna Wu on Twitter qualifiy as user needs.
Introducing the characters, the story or the background doesn't. Neither does having actual gameplay, interaction, or good writing.

design software and then test it to ensure quality
It's a good thing Brianna Wu is a software dev and tested R60 thoroughly! Otherwise R60 might have ended bugged with, like, a bug that makes the final boss unbeatable! ;)

They give instructions to programmers who write the software codes.
I think they forgot the step where it says "make all semi-competent programmers in the team hate you, hinder their works with your shitty ideas and fire them". Other than that, Bri is good!

Those who focus on applications, such as games, are called applications software developers.
Wait, that's not called programmer after all? *sigh*

they also need strong programming skills

:hah:
"=" instead of "==" makes everyone a Gamergater and every Tweet negative, which pretty much sums up Wu's life.
He could've wrote "if(tweeter==gamergater || tweet==negative) cout << "Block" << endl;" ? One line instead of 5.
Also, capitalized variables. Confusing pointless else statement. Wrong indentation.

All mistakes first-day programmers would avoid.

Systems software engineers earned a mean $48.28 per hour or $100,420 per year
Wu spent 100,420$ per year and earned 48.28$ in total.

They require a minimum bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field.

Yes, on casual mode.
In other news, I'm a shiny golden god at solving a Rubik's Cube, just so long as I'm allowed to peel off the stickers and switch them around.
I can also win any fight with anyone on earth so long as they're hogtied and sedated and I'm given a shotgun.

"Vote for me and I promise to kill myself."

Most 13-year olds wouldn't possess the mathematical sophistication to take proper CS classes, by the way.

Not many people who aren't already coding by 13 are going to be genius programmer material.

John wasn't one of them either. And will never be even a mediocre programmer, and even that would require a ton of work, which John will never put in.
