Not an expert but there were probably pamphlets and political cartoons in newspapers as far back as the founding fathers. Hell, there was a caning in congress. To pretend the US hasn't been a crazy political space is a disservice to our heritage

People have been dumb for a long time. Longer even.
 
FDR literally had USSR agents on his cabinet. Charles Dexter White and Alger Hiss were both USSR stooges paid by Moscow. There was a very real chance one of those could have been chosen as his VP for the last term and then the USA would have had a literal NKVD asset as POTUS. Most people never even comment on this.

His bullshit legislation kept violating the law and he used the technique that modern dems use of "just change it a little bit and force it again" to pass it. The NFA was blatantly unconstitutional and he passed it, the entire Chevron fuckery was started by him, his "New Deal" only worsened the Depression and the only reason the USA ever left it was because of WW2 and then once that was over the continuation of it being blocked.

My opponent will only debate at one specific time and place, whereas I am willing to debate at a different one specific time and place! If the Republicans let them spin Trump as scared of debates after punching Biden to the moon in the first one then everyone involved in any way in the Republican spin operation needs to resign.

Hey remember how Trump no showed on primary debates in 2016, 2020 and 2024 but still ran rings around everyone else?

Maybe Kamala thinks she can do the same thing. Except Trump's pretty good at doing a no show and still stealing the show via other means

His proposed date is earlier in the month, Trump also runs good rallies so you effectively give him a free TV rally to run unopposed if you don't show.

Even if she badgers ABC to move the date up - I think Trump will win the ratings war, he just needs to stick to Agenda 47 talking points with the occasional dig at team Kamala sprinkled in

And for what it is worth, Trump has debated more than just about anyone. He singlehandedly killed off the entire GOP field they had spent decades building, then kicked the tar out of Hillary Clinton and became President, he cleaned Joe Biden's clock twice before losing a rigged election by a hair, a broken water line and the intentional destruction of the global economy, only to be vindicated when Joe nuked Keystone XL on day fucking two, then debated Biden so hard the next time that the guy dropped out of the race.

Now the last girl standing is doing ticky tack bullshit to try to get out of being exposed worse than her former boss was a month and a half ago.

Harris can eat a load of shit. And I look forward to seeing her laugh as she chokes it down.

It scares me every year I get older the more I realize what Terry was right about. I don’t know if I’m going insane as well or if he saw what we couldn’t.
 
The "i want to debate before early voting starts" should be hammered more.

"Why do you hate democracy?" Has become a uno reverse with the assasination attempt and kamalas selection that skips the primary. And that point resonates on that theme.
