She's definitely lost weight, but that just makes her poor before-and-after staging even stupider. Her results would be more obvious if it didn't look like she just adjusted her pants and turned on a light.
I suspect April is cripplingly insecure. I think she can't stand to think about her body and what it looks like for long enough to even consider any of this. She's also extremely lazy and doesn't care enough to pay attention to the small details.

9 weeks since surgery.

Been back at work for a week now, shows her lunch bag contents, tells gross toilet stuff while driving.

Weigh in: 269.8
Last week: 272.8

She's 100% trying to manipulate the extent of the weight loss with the ol' weight loss mlm tricks.

After pics:

- wearing a different top
- hair covering arms
- different lighting

Before pics seem to be taken from a slightly lower angle, to emphasize her being bigger in those pics

You have to go out of your way to do these things, it's no accident. Funny part is all it will do is take away credibility for what weight she has lost. People aren't dumb, they notice these things.

While that may be true, she’s tracking as I’d expect for 3 months post-op. Could be doing better, but I suspect her DS surgery is modified from what surgeons used to do, and isn’t as drastic. She’s started losing hair, and that’s tracking as expected also for the level of weightloss she’s claiming. It’s going to become even more obvious over the next 3 months. How she reacts to losing her pride and joy mane, will be interesting.

She liked her hair because it helped to obscure her Slatonesque face. If she loses more hair but is down 60-80 pounds, she’s not going to care as much.

She definitely did that before the surgery. Another favorite was she’d pose in locations where she’d look smaller due to her surroundings. She completely stopped posting for months when she was wider than the refrigerator that was behind her at her house.

She freaked out over losing 4 inches of hair. Here is the relevant video.

Whaaaat a fucking snooze. April spends the first 8-ish minutes going on and on about how anxious she is to chop her mop of hair. It's giving her lots of "stress." And she's also doubly "stressed" because she's not looking forward to filming her month update video (yeah, we know...ya gained weight, you whale).

Around 9 min she has her new 'do and is preening in the camera. By the end of the video, she's back to being anxious because she doesn't know what the back of her hair looks like. She wants to know what you think about her hair. Is 95% of this video about her hair? Yes. Yes, it is.

She probably lost about 1 lb of hair, which gives her a much needed leg up in this month's weight loss 👏

Agree. And not denying her (likely temporary) weight loss, just saying she's attempting to make it seem more drastic than it is by using well-known deceptive tricks. She'd be a lot better off doing a fair comparison and showing her actual weight loss than pretending she lost more thru manipulation tactics. That's already a bad sign if she's already trying to trick viewers and likely herself even tho she's supposedly changed her ways.

Ruh roh, falling off schedule usually means a "plateau" for darling Ape.

Will she come back a skinny legend?

Or has her reversion to human blueberry begun?

@Esquilax I thought the same thing when I saw this community post.

I HOPE she is going to surprise us with like extra 20lbees lost, but I suspect with her husband gone she is not able to control herself and is not losing any weight

What's this 'work' she keeps mentioning? I thought YouTube was her 'job'?
I believe she's mentioned working at their church, but I don't think she's been any more specific than that because mean boooolie stalkers. Even if she's just volunteering part-time, I guess she's doing more than 90% of the other deathfats, so good on her. At least it's something to distract her from food.

Yeah, I was going to say that I don't think her community post bodes well for her current psychological state. As @I call shenanigans has said, she seems to be losing weight as expected for the type of surgery she had, but I'm wondering if everything has sort of caught up with her mentally and she's having a difficult time with it. Kenny's upcoming deployment is undoubtedly on her mind, especially since she will no longer be able to rely on her coping method of choice: eating to excess. She mentioned visits from family, and even if those are something she looks forward to, it's still a lot of work playing host to out-of-state guests, particularly if one is still getting used to living in a new place oneself.

Now is really the time when the effects of surgery become undeniable. The crucial phase of her recovery is complete, and all of the early excitement and anticipation have given way to the drudgery of everyday life. She has probably had some difficult realizations in the past few months. I think she's more bothered by having to cut her hair than she's letting on. When she announced that she had had weight loss surgery, multiple posters here speculated that the inevitable hair loss would be especially traumatic for her. Additionally, the subtle changes in her facial appearance noted in the thread recently are likely more apparent to her than to us. April is incredibly vapid and insecure; I think she's probably the type to obsess over stuff like thinning hair and sagging skin.

For a normal person, all of this would barely register as stressful, but normal people don't eat themselves to the point of physical disability. April simply does not have the coping skills or resilience to deal with real life, which is why she earned herself a thread here.

If anyone were to push the boundaries of a recent weight loss surgery, it would definitely be Ape. She's plateaued.

She’s mentally prepared for this by talking about how many more calories she’s going to need to eat when she begins exercising again. I think it’s really easy for someone like herself to give themselves a free pass to (over)indulge because of all the weight she’s lost over the past few months. The underlying issues that resulted in her lifelong struggles with weight have not went away and I think it’s essential she gets to the bottom of it if she wants to lose the weight and keep it off. I have low expectations for April to address any of those.

Agreed. If anything, I think she views the weight-loss surgery as a way to bypass having to deal with her shit, and instead it'll be a magic button that skips past all that icky 'talking about feelings' stuff.

Never occurred to me to wonder but are post WLS people inclined to get more head colds and other respiratory crud’s and perhaps other minor but inconvenient ailments?

My questionable thinking skills tell me probably but many here have vastly more knowledge about consequences of WLS than do I.
