My impression is that Nick's parents are fully supportive of everything Nick is doing. That they will give Nick every possible assistance in continuing his poly and drug lifestyle. That they will help him in whatever way they can to get the children back in the house or short of that to enable every stupid idea that Nick comes up with in his life.
I based that on the fact that Nick's parents took care of the kids while Nick went off on a bender with his three poly-mates. That Nick's father visited the house at presumably its lowest point in the spring and seems to have done nothing at all about what was going on. That he paid Nick's property taxes when Nick did not do so.
Nick's current insanity (legal and otherwise) would not be possible without a substantial amount of outside support and a strongly suspect his parents are providing that support as Nick himself has no visible source of income anymore.
Kayla's side seems more interested in intervention. They provided information about what the group was doing. It was their family church that was at the center of things. They seem to have done everything possible to help the children. But they lack the resources and any sort of influence over Nick.
Nothing can really influence Nick at this point other than taking away his financial support and Nick's parents show no sign of being willing to do that. Or really to do much of anything other than enable Nick's downward spiral.
The biggest "conversion of heart" he could do would be to renounce e-fame completely and go back to lawyerin' to earn money to buy groceries and shit for his kids.

I won't say that Nick deserves hell, that is literally God's judgement and the type of judgement that is actually forbidden. I will say Nick needs to repent, and that there will be consequences in this life, and the hereafter if he does not.
It would have been interesting to get even one religious stream before the balldoing, it likely would have revealed more than he cared to reveal if he had. It's possible his attitudes towards Christianity changed from his degeneracy, but I highly doubt it. The way he interprets things are ideas that take time to take root. There were hints about his apostasy, but since he never went in to detail in what ways he disagreed with "most Christians", a lot of us wrongly assumed that he might be coming at it from a more biblical approach. I enjoy the Parable of the Vineyard Workers, the Ten Virgins, the Two Sons, the Workers, and basically anything between Matthew 20-25. All of those go over people working towards Salvation, the worthy being unworthy and the unworthy worthy due to actions.

I think she was only upset that Rekieta wasn't letting her talk to April. That's it. She doesn't mind the coke, the swinging, the child neglect. All that is fine. It's the same story with David and Bathsheba that Nick misses. When the Prophet Nathan comes to him and tells him the story about the rich man taking a poor man's only lamb and slaughtering it, and hits him with the 'you are that man' line, David's response is not to say "you are absolutely bullshit lying."
