Didn’t want to become the next Bud Light…

After the controversy last year over Bud Light partnering with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, the iconic beer brand lost billions of dollars and is still struggling to recover not only market share but also its reputation that it lost from ensuing boycotts.

And Tractor Supply clearly didn’t want to find itself in the same situation.

The retail chain has recently come under fire online after criticism over their implementation of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies, releasing videos about things like the importance of women voting (which seems pretty unrelated to selling farm supplies), and their funding for pride events and climate change initiatives.

Well obviously these are issues that aren’t exactly popular with the majority of their customer base. And though the criticism hasn’t been as loud or as mainstream as that against Bud Light, apparently it was enough to get the store’s attention.

Tractor Supply Company released a statement today announcing that they were ending several of the controversial initiatives and refocusing on their customers and mission, including redirecting funds from “nonbusiness activities” like pride parades and voting campaigns to instead focus on “rural America priorities including ag education, animal welfare and veterans causes.”

The chain also announced that they will be ending all DEI initiatives “while still ensuring a respectful environment” and withdrawing carbon emissions goals to instead “focus on our land and water conservation efforts.”

According to the statement:

“We work hard to live up to our Mission and Values every day and represent the values of the communities and customers we serve. We have heard from customers that we have disappointed them. We have taken this feedback to heart.”

Guess they were trying to head off a PR disaster like other companies have faced lately.

They should never have done that stupid shit in the first place. As a group, the vast majority of farmers are rather conservative and don't support DEI or the alphabet stuff. Tractor Supply also likely determined DEI and supporting alphabet stuff was a cost center instead of a profit center.

So funny when people in charge of companies show just how out of touch with reality they are

Dude, it's Tractor Supply. I'm going there for feed, whether their corporate office decides to be political or not. There are not Bid Light. They are the only game in town, and I'm not driving forty fucking miles to the next feed place.

all the farmers i’ve ever met are trans lesbians with different colored children like Angelina Jolie

or when most of your customer base is conservative white men who refuse to buy your product because you decided to troon out

The one who started these programs probably thought that Brokeback Mountain was a documentary on rural americans

The grand social experiment of letting banks fulfill the role of arbiters of morality has yielded unsurprising results.

Fuck TSC. They’re a bunch of liberal faggots.
Any time I have a need for seed and feed, I go down to Floyd’s Feed and Seed in Dadeville, Alabama. They have all your seed and feed needs like Gucci loafers and gummy bears. Breathtaking deals, like a the finest Chinese fentanyl for just $20, and 13 bananas for .50¢ each.

Rural americans are known for being extremely conservative and rightfully so.

How a tractor supply thought it was a great idea to use DEI bullshit would work on them I'll never know.

Many areas have their local feed stores, as well.

This is so stupid. Have these people ever heard of knowing your customer base? This is like that country singer telling everyone to buy Bud Light; your fanbase is Christian conservative boomers, not transgenders.

I only go to Chuck's.

But seriously, TS is the go-to for bird seed. I've wheeled out of there with a hunnerd pounds before, and a metal trash can to store it in.

And some people aren't reading the damn article. TS has said they're NOT doing woke shit.

They were, but have decided to stop according to the article.

I'm relieved. I didn't want to have to really consider going to someplace else because TSC went full rainbow retard. They carry alotta stuff I need.

TSC has been dropping stores in suburban areas for awhile now and maybe some young exec thought they could get the AWFL dollars if they went woke. Or maybe they're getting pooner applicants for their manly retail jobs. But it's more likely that they noticed that the US Department of Ag has gone full rainbow retard (troons are encouraged to attend "women farmer" conferences and apply for "women farmer" grants) and they thought that they should too. At any rate, goin' woke was remarkably stupid for them, considering their base customer and their Red, White and Blue Rugged Individualist marketing.

Hal Lawton needs to fall down on his sword, immediately and publicly.
