Fun fact, the reason Ohio and Michigan are such fierce rivals is because centuries ago we fought over what would now be Toledo. There were severe land disputes and war was declared between states, until the president at the time came down and declared that states cannot go to war and gave the land to Ohio. Though most may not remember where the bitter rivalry began, it was almost a rivalry of bloodshed.

They are making sure if that does happen they have time to replace him with the body double before the public notices. They are protecting us really.
Very, very strange they won't even let fellow reporters in the same building. If it was a security concern you would think they would be screeching about how the evil alt right nazis are threatening to fed post the debate but I haven't seen anything about that. They are trying to hide something though.
Also, I won't be watching live so I expect maymays to explain everything to me in bite size pieces

It's an utterly stupid cope the Biden team came up with to try and paint him as the next FDR, where #Blumpf was the incompetent lame duck who made the shitty economy Biden has to save.
Except Trump has next to zero ideological overlap with Hoover and Biden fucking wishes he was another FDR.

Worse case scenario, they're gonna try and kill Trump. That's extremely unlikely. Very very low in the realm of possibilities. Since the Secret Service will be there and I doubt they would let a former president just up and die. I would assume they poison him. Not shoot him or anything like that.

But it is very suspect. If Patrick's tweets are accurate.

He will be coked to the gills, that's why they need the commercial breaks so they can refresh his meds and have the EMS on standby in case the drugs are too much for his system and he has a stroke.

I honestly believe there is a non zero chance we could see Biden stroke out and die tonight if his handlers push him too hard.

CNN is preemptively sending out copyright "reminds" to right leaning You-Tube channels letting them know they cannot re-stream the debate. And that You-Tube will terminate any streams that occur during the debate time. Wowsers.

I hope they do stream it anyways just to spite CNN and YouTube, but i know they won't have the balls to do it because of their precious monetization.
 
CNN stated, in one of their instructional debate videos, that the candidates will be permitted an extra minute "at the moderators discretion" the totally unbiased, definitely not Trump hating moderators? This sounds like more cheating and scheming.

They're also having two commercial breaks. And Biden has refused the drug test. This is so fucking stupid and I really, really hope that Biden glitches and this turns into a dumpster fire for him.

Has anyone posted about Gavin Newsom being Biden's surrogate? I guess that means Newsom will be talking on Joe's behalf to the media afterwards.

You know if I were sitting in the DNC I'd almost be frustrated at the amount of guardrails CNN is establishing instead of this being a real test of my candidate.
The way things are going if Biden can simply fog a mirror that's probably enough to come out ahead in this debate, but that shit won't work this fall shy of rigging that makes 2020 look like amateur hour, and now everyone's hackles are up.

I don't know about what i can wager, but assuming that they don't just plan to use a highly edited prerecording for all Biden's answers:

  • extremely softball and biased questions that Biden can answer easily but are incredibly boring - possibly calculated to make people tune out during the first fifteen minutes
  • Biden speaks gibberish and gets confused, walks off stage and needs to be guided back
  • Trump gets Biden angry enough that he goes on an incoherent rant (assuming Biden isn't wearing earbuds that give him instructions and mutes Trump)
  • extremely obvious editing of the live feed with Trump or Biden being cut off mid sentence
All in all i give odds of 25% that it goes off within CNN and the DNC's expectations and 15% chance that it doesn't backfire.

the debate is in about 4 hours right?
